Thing with the knee issues is they are recurring, if its not an extreme sprain or a tear it will depend on him and the pain he feels, some games he will be able to play 90mins and some he wont be able to last 20 mins [like the last qualifier game], issue with painkillers is that if he is numb to the pain he may end up aggravating it or tearing it, so both him and the staff will have to figure it how to manage it.

I had hoped he would have been able to manage his injury better. I still think we should give him till the end of the season to see how well he does. He may need another surgery in the summer though to help him.

So it's almost certain that he will not be here next season.

It's good to see our management making good decisions.

I will be surprised if he can manage playing a further 7 games for the rest of the season.

It is a shame about his injury because he could be our permanent right back for years to come. I remember his performance against Udinese last month, that was the best performance coming from the right back in this season. I still put some of hope of him to totally recover from his injury and to make some good impression in the remaining games so we can sign him next season.

I also have a concern about the injury management in Inter. So far we have Radja and Sime who always have recurring injury without proper recovery date. Just not sure if their injuries are the difficult cases or our injury treament is terrible.

It may be both, the track record for recurring injuries is not the best.

Yeah these are not generally either-or cases but the combination of both.

It seems clear Vrsaljko is too damn injury-prone at least at the moment since Spallo asked for new RB. At the moment Spallo isn't interested in next season. He's interested in getting success this season and he feels he can't get it with injury-prone Vrsaljko. The player can't be trusted to be ready for games so I totally understand why Spallo feels this way. If he has plans to play in a certain way, the plans are destroyed everytinme the offensive RB is not available who was suppose to be an integral part of a plan. Dumbo suits to some games much better but offensive sideback is great to have.

Vrsaljko is easily the best RB we've had since..... Cancelo...........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Anyway, it's just our fucking luck that this cunt can't stay fit for more than a week at a time. That said, I want to see how he finishes the season before deciding whether to redeem him or not, especially as apparently we'll be free of SA constraints then and tbh €17m is not a lot. I DO NOT want to hear a fucking thing about fucking Darmian or Soares or any of these cunts.

So, does he really require surgery? Read it on fcin news, hope it's bullshit. However reliable Dumbo is,I don't wanna have less than 4 fbs onboard, since Dalbert is on his way out of the club.

Sorry,wrong thread,thought it is Vrsaljko's.л

Few days ago i had said that my fear was this guy won't properly recover till he has a surgery and it looks like i could sadly be right. According to GdS, in the latest hours there are discussions between Atletico and Inter whether Vrsaljko should have a surgery or they should follow a conservative treatment with signs leaning towards to the operation. If Vrsaljko ends up having a knee surgery we should either get a massive discount from Atletico on his option or sending him back early. Else, there's no point keeping him.

Btw, it's Vrsaljko's thread. ;)

Thanks Croatia, you’ve successfully ruined your player because of some glorified friendlies.

Good thing we haven't bought him yet, otherwise this would be a big problem.

The strange thing is that there are players here who have been here for years that should have left a long time ago, and this is a player that if he gets healthy, even if it takes another year would be the starting RB for years to come. Cant say i am surprised though.

That's a big if though. And he's certainly a gamble not worth taking for the current sum of our option. We have already spent 6.5m on him so spending another 17.5m for an injury prone rb who's going to have a knee surgery isn't a wise thing to do. If Atletico gave us a big discount then yes. I would consider taking a gamble with him. Else, there's no difference between returning to Atletico now or in June as he's basically out for the season.

Tomorrow it will be known whether immediate surgery is due or conservative theory will be continued. With the former scenario he is out for 6-8 months and returns home. In any case,Cedric will be included in the Serie A squad list instead of Sime.

I wouldn't take him even with a big discount. It wasn't meant to be.

The thing i don't get tho is our unlucky charm once again... Cancelo had a surgery and recuperated in less than two months (not that i want him out for eternety, don't get me wrong), and Vrsaljko's knee would take 6 moths at the least... :(

Everything is an If though. How long will it take and how much money will be spent to find another right back? If you are talking just numbers, 17.5 is not that much in the current market. You see the numbers that are spent on top full backs.

But yes if the decision was made not to redeem him then he is better off going back to his parent club and recover there.

Inter Defender Vrsaljko To Undergo Surgery On Knee

The Croatian national team have confirmed that Inter defender Sime Vrsaljko is to undergo knee surgery in a bid to correct the problem that has bothered him since his arrival at the Nerazzurri in the Summer.

He initially injured his knee at the World Cup and recovered but soon relapsed and it has continued to cause him problems since which has led to the decision to undergo surgery.

He joined Inter on loan with a redemption option from Atletico Madrid but with a long time on the sidelines awaiting him post-surgery it remains to be seen what will happen with Vrsaljko at Inter.

Inter removed him from Serie A list, added Cedric.
