Nervous win but three huge points. We are first with a game in hand. Fratessi needs time to mature. Aslsni was good for the most part and Miki solid as always. On to the rats from turin. I'm hoping for a five goal humiliation of those bastards.

I just don't understand the penalty deal. Isn't Sommer supposed to clear the ball? Just let him to score?

I felt it was not a penalty as well. Two things, one he got the ball first and two, even if it's a foul, the play continued like an advantage was given. If viola score there the goal would count and it wouldn't have been called back by VAR. It was the wrong call but it doesn't matter. Sommer came through and saved it.

Enormous 3 points won in such a hostile environment as Florence. This can be crucial for us to win the Scudetto.

Mkhitaryan MOTM? It’s a football game not a marathon… if he runs all day but fuck up easy passes he can also fuck off with Frattesi.
Mkhi helped out a lot in midfield. He was the reason our left flank was so dangerous tonight. Augusto had some good opportunities thanks to Mkhi, plus covering asllani in defense, he was great.

But yeah, the last passes were bad.

He got to the ball first
Was a 50/50 challenge and was totally entitled to go for the ball.

Let's not forget football is a contact sport ,

But that doesn't take away any validation of that penalty. Whether Sommer went for the ball first or not, penalty was crystal clear. It was a rough challenge.

The rules aren't what they were 20 years ago. Getting the ball first no longer gives you carte blanche to commit felony assault on someone, though typically keepers have been given way more leeway

I think penalty was the right call. It’s extremely harsh as Sommer did get to the ball first, but for player safety you don’t want to set a precedent where the keeper can Falcon Punch motherfuckers because he got there first.

Yes, it’s a contact sport, but these head injuries can straight up kill a guy.

That was a hard fought win as expected. We really need to work on our counters. Except one game, we are quite wasteful and lack ideas in counter attacks and that leads to a lot of missed opportunities.

Said it, a win here was possibile, even without Bare Cahla (and DiMarco). Sure we did suffer a lot, every long ball was getting really dangerous, we were lucky sometimes, Pavard and Bastoni did great saves on Nzolas shots. And yeah, the saved penalty. But let's be honest, the game was already over if we would make profit of the chances. Thuram had an incredible chance, unlucky that the field is shit and he fall while running. Lautaro also 1-2 good chances. Or August where the defender blocked the shot in the last second. We made things more complicated then it was, but what matters is the win!
Now against Juve i want to see the best Inter of the season. "Mission second star" has reached a really important moment. Winning here would be massive!!

Asllani actually did very well, the only 2 things you might complain is physical 50/50 duels or physical pressing, but even that he fought well for 1 or 2 duels; the other one is the only long shot he took, which isn't outrageous just poor executed and not the best choice.
I don't think he missed any passes, good vision and tempo control, the best one was one that didn't count where he recovered the ball and switch direction and long pass to Dumfries.
His defensive decision on what to do improved immensely, the timing and the position switching, along with his final block.

Intensive game, also liked Dumfries and Besseck held up.

Pavard is just world class.

Toro is showing class even when not perfectly performing, a real captain now.

Frattesi really needs better decisions making (e.g. when to run and when to give options; pass or dribble); he has all the attributions to be a top level midfielder.

I swear had Viola scored their header afterward, but ref disallowed awarded the pen the Gobbi rats still complained that we won coz of Marotta league. As they are crying in their forum. Thats beyond ridiculous

You should be right had the ref whistled immediately after the foul. But he didnt. Fio basically had 2 chances to shoot.
