How is it poor man management on Inter's part if they give him opportunities and he doesn't take them? Other youngsters took loan options to smaller clubs, not to mention how loaning youth to smaller clubs is something that happens across all of Europe. We can use this cash to get a better attacker (Gomez) or make an investment in the midfield.
It is poor management because we gave him an ultimatum (Italy or sale). He didn't want another team in Italy, so we sold him. That's the story at least. IF that's true, wouldn't you agree that's a poor way of handling a promising talent?
It gives us some cash (6 mil reported) but that isn't worth much. Castaignos's talent on the other hand COULD be worth a lot more. That warrants finding a solution that involves keeping him tied to Inter, while developing his talents somehow. Like loan outside of Italy (not Holland).
Someone said he wanted 'only Feyenoord or Inter'? That sounds freaking ridiculous to me tbh.. I assume he does have a functioning brain, you know. He knows he needs to develop. He knows he won't really do that at Feyenoord.
You say we should sell him because he (supposedly) refused certain loans? So convince him! He's 19 years old! I'm sure Moratti could have had a personal talk with Luc to persuade him.
I'd put money on this: Moratti hasn't had one personal conversation with the guy.
For someone who is talented, shouldn't you TRY to find something that works instead of giving him an ultimatum? Look at all the chances we gave to Balotelli for example. Of course it was already clear Balo was going to be world-class and that's not 100% sure with Luc, but still.
I think during this whole saga Luc quickly got the feeling his club didn't want him anymore. That he wasn't part of the plans and they didn't value him. A departure from that point on is easy.
The whole situation reeks of Inter just not caring enough to actually work out something. Being inflexible. Renewal project > 'Being difficult?' ok gtfo then'.
Luc? Pazzini? Julione? Sound like poor man mangement if you ask me..
