A good buy since it's only for a reasonable fee. Hopefully he'll turn into a decent player although I haven't heard anything special with this guy :p

According to one guy following Eredivisie (as I asked about this transfer), Castaignos is definitely not yet ready for Inter as sometimes he has problems keeping the level in Eredivisie matches. So most probably he start at Primavera, or will be loaned out to a smaller club.

Meh...add to that we've had 3 boys from Holland in this forum who said he is not Inter material....

Very bizarre..normally by this age you need to show some quality before you can be so sought after...there has to be something more than meets the eye.

Luc Castaignos is a striker currently playing at Feyenoord and he's going to move to Inter next season. The agreement had officially been reached. He's only 18 years old but he is the key player at Feyenoord at the moment, and he was the top scorer at the European Youth Championship 2009 in Germany, with the Dutch national team. Thanks to all his goals he is the most-scoring striker in the Netherlands, under 17, ever. This is why Inter followed him for a while and now they have made a bid of 3 - 4 million euros, which has been accepted. Only thing left to do is getting an agreement between Inter and Castaignos himself, which certainly will be no big deal.

Full Name: Luc Castaignos
Date of birth: September 27, 1992
Place of birth: Schiedam, Netherlands
Height: 1.87 m
Playing position: Striker

Official Dutch news item: http://www.nu.nl/sport/2435988/castaignos-einde-seizoen-inter.html

Translated:
ROTTERDAM - Luc Castaignos makes his move to Internazionale at the end of this season.

Both clubs reached an agreement in principle Monday for a transition from the 18-year-old striker.

Castaignos himself still has to come to an agreement with the World Champions.

Feyenoord will get between 3 and 4 million euros for the striker, who has had an ongoing contract in Rotterdam. Castaignos made six goals in 21 games so far this season.

I think this is a pretty weird move. He's very young and I don't think he's ready for the Serie A in Inter's first. I don't think he'll get much playing time as well, he'll probably be a benchwarmer for a long time, but who knows. There has been nothing on inter.it yet I believe, but that will probably come as soon as Castaignos and Inter are done with their agreement.

Martin,

Why is it that articles rate him highly while all the dutch members who come on here say it's 'weird' or 'not worth it'.

Argh sh*t, I'm still new here and I didn't know about a co-owned/loaned players section, sorry...

@ Anon
Well, he's a great player for his age, but compared to the current players at Inter, he's way too inexperienced and he just doesn't reach that level. Everyone just thinks it's too early for him to go to such a big club/league... and eventually he'll become a benchwarmer.
