But if he scores on the Trivela, should we give him a 5k bonus???

Come on man, he cut in beautifully and if you are a player who has been so successful in the past with the Trivela, you would have used it in that position also...

The thing the focus more on, is the way he beat his defender...although he was not great, he looked much more fit than last year, more pace.

I thought he connected well with santon on a few occassions. And he did give an excellent cross for Motta but he missed the header.

I thought even last season the few times he played with Santon, they linked up well together. It's a combination that could get better given time.

Anyway I agree with most posters here, we saw little improvement in his speed and workrate, but not in his end product. He must start providing better service into the box, especially if we are going to be relying on targetmen like Milito/Eto'o.

He is probably the player with more technique on the team after Zlatan leaving.

He wasn't bad yesterday, especially with the little time he got. At least he's on the right track now.

Confidence is such a huge part of his game, even these brief successful appearances are probably helping him.

He wont jump on the 1st eleven just like that with Jose but if he perfrorms in the 20-25 minutes that he is getting then he will begin starting games as well and then its up to him to show what he is worth.

Who do you think he'd replace if he got into the starting lineup? Right now I see him more injecting pace and creativity off the bench, though spots starts would be fantastic.

I agree.

He can replace baloteli, with his current poor performances he wont be guaranted starting spot and if ricky start playing his magic baloteli will be benched.

I liked what I saw of him last night. He looks very motivated and more self-confident. Hopefully he can prove last year was unlucky.

He still hasn't showed us he can go past the defender with the ball. I expect exactly that from him.

No he didn't. Not in a classical sense. He did sidesteps, or he cut inside but that's not actually beating a guy through dribbling and then sprinting down the wing or whatever, and that's what CC and I had in mind.

Cutting inside a defender = beating a defender in my books...Plus if you could cut inside him, why would you want to run outside of him?

Cutting inside is not beating a guy. You can cut inside all day long, and you won't have the same effect when you actually BEAT a guy which makes you much more dangerous.

It's a tactical thing, just go and look for it guys.
