There's an interesting example from the premiership - Clattenburg was accused of racism by John Obi Mikel - IIRC it was alleged he said monkey - but it was never really public, I always took it in the sense of 'stop monkeying around' (common english expression) rather than 'you're a monkey' (potentially interpretable as racist).
Saying 'I'll beat you black and blue' has nothing to do with racism, if that's indeed what was said. It's a turn of phrase.
