I am worried as fuck
You shouldn’t be. I know optimism is hard to come by for Interisti for well known reasons but this is an excellent side. Arguably a top 3 side in Europe with Real Madrid and Manchester City. Our record since last April proves it. Are Atletico a bunch of bums? Of course not and it won’t be easy away in Spain but trust in Inzaghi and the players. They’ve rarely let us down recently.

This all reminds me of Napoli last season. Best football in Europe, top 3 in Europe, best attack.. And we know how that ended in CL.

Giants/clear favourites fell before. Especially Inter (against Schalke and Marseille).

Nothing is given even tho we are clearly the better team, this Atletico side is full of nasty players and Simeone is devious with it too.

The key difference is that Napoli didnt have any experience in CL also zero experience in winning titles from knock out stage, which, Inter and Inzaghi truly experienced and have. Call me biased but last year's Napoli had a worse goal difference than we have now, we demonstrate better football for the viewer and as far as I can remember when we beat Napoli in January 2023 we were first in the table of Serie A (correct me if im wrong). Our defence this year is not comparable at all with Napoli which as you mentioned they only had the best attack but inexperienced defence.

No way we were ever first in the league last season
Thats why i said that i wasnt sure about this one, but im sure that we beat them in January 2023 and their defence was terrible but somehow they managed to get in the flow and win games.

Yikes. Buchanan or Darmian might feature on the left in the second half.

No C.Augusto is a big handicap.

If we would be trailing we could see Buchanan.

We just need to do a bologna, play ultra compact and defensive and hope for the one or two chances and hope we score on that.

Without Augusto, Thuram and Hakan in question and certainly only for 60min tops we already know what we are going to see.

Dimarco is a better player offensively than Augusto.

Where did you find that we will be without Thuram and Hakan? Did I miss something?

Both got some knocks in the Bologna match we don’t really know the conditions they are in especially as they both just returned. Either way they aren’t gonna last more than 60min and both aren’t at the level before they were injured.

They might start or they might not, I doubt it will be decided before the day arises

Where did you read or heard that they are not able to last more than 60min? I mean, Thuram even when was in best form and healthy was subbed around 65-70min so I dont see some revelation here.

To me those subs were preplanned but did I miss something? I'm sure Calhanoglu wasn't suppose to play more than an hour anyway. It was his first minutes after the recovery. Don't know about Thuram, did he take some knock?
