I think he was open to it but put nothing like the effort to go there as here. He obviously knows that despite our financial issues inter is a better side with a better chance to get to the latter stages of the CL and win trophies.

Revenues from Serie Ass and Italia as a country are low anyway, hopeless. As long as Serie A and Italia suck, Inter would be forced to sell their players anyway. i hope Italia boost their economy ASAP in 1-2 years to make Inter revenues go higher and to anticipate BRICS countries tackle Italy from one of top economy power.

Most Diverse PosterIn reality, this deal started 8 months ago and there was a solid plan, probably the first idea was to get him free next summer but not getting some pieces (Lukaku, Samardžić) also helped to speed up this deal.
