We feared them from the start. It was obvious both from our approach to the game and the nervousness of our players and especially Conte. We missed the big-team attitude and self confidence which mostly has to do with how we prepared for this game. Sorry, we failed badly.:palm:

Conte learned absolutely nothing from Sevilla-Man Utd.
Do they even analyse the opponents?

I'd say Hakimi can't wait to spend the whole game defending in Conte's back five.

Constantly defended Conte and still think he’s an extraordinary coach but tonight was on him and only him. Sevilla aren’t even good at all, wouldn’t give a shit if we parted ways with him. Don’t care anymore

It's exactly what I predicted, Conte managed an incredible failure.

Any decent coach with our squad would have murdered this Sevilla.

Fucking losers. All of them with Conte.Just fuck this club.

Also fuck people here who thought this is easy task.

It was an easy task, Conte just managed to fuck it up because he's a shit coach.

What do you need to beat a 3-5-2?

Chain the opposing teams wingers - check
Move the ball swiftly - check
Switch sides/switch play - check

The price is obviously conditioning, endurance, but the rewards are game control and opportunities. Conte couldn't see that for 85 minutes.

Exactly.
Thats why 3-5-2 never works in Europe. You have 6 players with defensive mindset. Look at the first touches from sevila then from our players.

Just to add, Inter's approach this game wasn't any different from the Shakhtar, or Leverkusen, or Getafe ones. We had same issues in those, just that we didn't get punished.

Against Getafe, we were close to conceding but then got the 2nd at just the right time to get by. Same against Leverkusen, we managed to hold on. And Shakhtar was unlucky to not score with their only good chance and concede immediately after, post which they lost their bearings.

Today the opposition was better prepared. And mentally, they were far superior.

Despite all the anger and negativity on here at this moment, I just wanna say THANK YOU to everyone on our team for making us dream again this year. Yes you win some, you lose some, but when we lose, I find comfort in knowing that y’all gave it all you had.
Proud to be Interista, always and forever.

That’s the problem. Sevilla are completely different from everyone we faced yet Conte did the same shit. He thought we’d just walk all over them but Sevilla are an actual well coached team who can hold the call and defend. This is completely on Conte.

Get off your biases.

That was not a red card. Not in that position. A yellow and a penalty was fair.

That was not a handball, or a penalty. The hand was next to the body, the player could not take it out.

Inter created one chance all match. The only chance was when Lukaku was through, which also came about in a fortunate manner.

You don't do well when you have 8 defensive players in the team.
You don't expect to win if you cannot defend set pieces, not with 8 defensive players.
You don't expect to win if you don't make substitutions.
You deserve to pay if you keep giving away free kicks needlessly, when there is no threat.

Deserved loss. Go back to the drawing board, and fucking do better next season.

1. Clear red as a last man challenge from behind to deny a clear goal scoring chance

2. Handballs have been given for much, much less (Depay) and he did motion his wrist towards the ball, however involuntary, however small

3. How many chances did Sevilla create? Literally all their goals came from crosses into the box that we just did an uncharacteristically shit job of handling. It's not like they tore us apart through the middle with sublime tiki taka and magic football. We didn't create much, no doubt, but saying we created one chance is obviously a joke. Sanchez and Moses had chances but both fluffed their shots completely. Gagliardini had a big chance which he inexplicably tried to place to the right, despite two defenders sliding in from that direction and the left being open. D'Ambrosio had at least 2 very good chances. Martinez had a chance but decided to dive instead of shooting. Godin obviously took his.

I get that you probably don't like all the whining, but don't take these ludicrous views just to argue against it. Sure, we didn't deserve to win and obviously there's going to be whining and ranting following cup final loss, but some of stuff is just plain false.

Gaglia is useless, but Conte decided to play him in the biggest game of the season.

I hope this performance sees Brozovic and Gagliardini leave in the summer. If we replace Brozovic with Tonali and get a proper DM in as the Gags replacement, we'll be in a good position from a midfield perspective, assuming Sensi stays fit.

A lot of this will come down to formation - likely a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-1-2 under Allegri? You basically need to play Lautaro and Lukaku, Sensi, Eriksen and Barella...

I was pretty disappointed with Sanchez's cameo - he's a useful squad player imho but no more than that

For once, though, we lost because we didnt have our best team on the pitch - normally we lose because our players dont even try.

He was coming from an injury ffs, did you forget how he carried the team after the Covid break?

I don’t blame Conte nor the team for this loss. This is a new team. Yea maybe if the ref had given that handball things would be different, if Lukaku had converted that chance things might be different, if Lukaku just let that ball go out things might be different...

But

These things happen in football and you can’t expect the ref to get 100% of his calls correct.

However there is no denying this team has grown so much in this past season. I’m sure none of you would exchange Inter of this year with last year’s and if any of you would’ve been told last year that this year Inter would finish just one point below Juve and would go to the final of EL you would call this season a success.

We have a good foundation and seem to be on the right track so we can finally say we are done with year 0. Hopefully next year we can build on this improvement and start winning trophies.

The difference is that Sevilla is the first decent team we faced, their squad level is clearly below ours but it's not a huge distance like the other teams.

But our coach is super shit so he can only win against shit teams, any decent opposition and he crumbles. Also his fucking system doesn't work in Europe and he refuses to accept it.

The biggest disappointment is missing out on pot 1. We're going out in the group stage 3 years in a row now

Inter are the worst kind of Cinderella story, we're the belle of the ball until all of a sudden the clock strikes 12 and we turn back into a fucking pumpkin

Football is a sport where the episodes more often than not make the difference. Not to blame it on lukaku, but if he scored the 1 vs 1 and/or didn't score the own goal, maybe we would discuss about something different.

No team was better than the other, as a freak own goal gave them the win.

Granted, if that retarded ref had done his job properly and sent out that player of Sevilla, it would have been yet another scenario.

It was a penalty AND a red card, the new rule says that it's not red if the defender makes a genuine attempt, which definitely wasn't the case.
