Seems like Inter don't have a say on this because Marotta already said he doesn't agree with the game being played next Monday.

Why Monday? Why not Sunday? Inter-Sassuolo needs to be moved anyway so I don't get it why we can't play on Sunday?

Because decree that prohibits fans is still in place on Sunday, but ends in midnight, meaning on Monday they can (unless decree is extended) have the full crowd.
Knowing how much influence they have over the league and politics, they will probably have full stadium on Monday, risking spreading disease among everyone, just to prevent the scenario whey they have to refund 5m in tickets sold.

Correct, that was always on their filthy minds: not lose money and have home fans present.

Seems that there is a reaction to the Insta story of Zhang:

Malago: 'Presidents talking like the fans'

CONI President Giovanni Malagò has slammed an “embarrassing” approach by the football clubs and encouraged the Presidents to stop “talking like the fans”.

After a controversial week in Serie A, the CONI President has defended the action taken by the Lega and has claimed that the proposed fixture list has been created with the best interests in mind.

“The postponement of a round seems like the only guarantee for the regularity of the League,” Malagò told La Repubblica. “Juventus will not play in the League next week and Inter will have three days to recover before the Europa League.”

Among others, the Inter President Steven Zhang was one of the chiefs who voiced his concern in a rant on social media, whilst Fiorentina CEO Joe Barone has been participating in the public discussion since their postponed game against Udinese.

The CONI President has claimed that the chiefs have started to sound like their fans and is “embarrassed” by football’s conduct towards other sports in Italy.

“It doesn’t honour Italy. The virus is creating huge problems for all of the sports,” he added. “It’s time for football to understand that there are no levels of athletes.

“Being more popular and earning more doesn’t give players more rights than those who might have trained even more to get a spot at the Olympics.

“It’s a matter of respect. It’s embarrassing that the supporters push the managers and they follow up speaking like them [the fans]. That’s not good.”

One problem that has been highlighted was the postponed Inter-Sampdoria not having a date, but, whilst the CONI President admitted that “it’s true”, he points at a “complex situation”.

“True, and the situation in Lombardy and Veneto remains more delicate,” he added. “There the problem is more complex, but the circle is closing. The critical issues must be understood and addressed in an adult way, also because we are facing a more unique rather than rare event.”

Brescia President Massimo Cellino supports Juventus patron Andrea Agnelli by claiming that the Old Lady “would have played behind closed doors”. :awyeah:

The controversies after the postponed Derby d’Italia has led to reactions from the hierarchy of different clubs and the Brescia chief has publicly defended Agnelli.

He feels the Bianconeri President has been getting too much stick for the postponed fixture list and has claimed that Inter CEO Beppe Marotta has only Inter’s interests in mind when he speaks about the tie.
Juventus are being demonised, everyone is giving it to them,” Cellino told the Corriere dello Sport. “But I spoke with Andrea Agnelli and Juve would have played behind closed doors.”

» Either he assumes every1 is stupid or he can`t think of the fact that Agnelli scum lied to him

“Marotta has been defending the interests of Inter.”

Does anyone expect Tonali to end up at Inter after this statement?

Wiki:
Cellino was arrested in February 2013 with the mayor of Quartu Sant'Elena, Mauro Contini, and the public works commissioner Stefano Lilliu, for attempted embezzlement and fraudulent misrepresentation following an investigation into the construction of the Stadio Is Arenas.[65] Cellino was held in custody for over two weeks, in a case which remains unresolved. Cellino's arrest warrant called him a man of "marked criminal tendencies ... capable of using every kind of deception to achieve his ends".[65] Cellino has two prior criminal convictions, for deceiving the Italian Ministry of Agriculture out of £7.5m in 1996 and for false accounting at Cagliari in 2001
Just criminals taking care of each other :p

I don't think this has anything to do with Tonali, Cellino will accept major offer wherever it comes from, then it depends on Tonali.

So...still no decision made. Most likely option seems to be playing it on the 9th, and pushing all the games forward a week.

We're supposedly opposed to this, and want to play the Sampdoria game first as per the regulations.

According to La Repubblica, only Inter and Napoli are against it so it will probably go through. FIGC are also trying to change the city of Coppa Italia final from Milan to Rome but they need to convince UEFA about that.

I don't think it needs translation:

Marotta is talking about Lega's rule that Sampdoria's match has to be played before the one with Juve. Anyone knows what rule he is talking about?

Eyyyy, now there's talks of suspending all sporting activity for the whole month! Of course we could have played behind closed doors, but that option is now no longer an option!

I don't think we're going to see Inter again until next season boys.

Inter sent a legal letter this evening warning they would sue if their game with Juventus (Week 26) was organised before the home match with Sampdoria (Week 25). This has been sent to all Serie A clubs and Lega Serie A.

An emergency meeting of the 20 Lega Serie A clubs is planned for tomorrow afternoon, when they will discuss and vote on what do from here on in.

News agency ANSA claim the Government is considering a suspension of all sporting events in Italy for a month due to the Coronavirus outbreak, as another 27 people died over the last 24 hours.

This would not just involve the areas most hit by the disease, but every region in the country.

According to ANSA, this is the proposal put forward by the scientific community to the Government on how to stem the spread of the virus.

“Avoid for 30 days any events, including sporting, that involve crowds of people who do not respect the safety distance from each other of at least one metre.

“This is one of the proposals from the scientific commission wanted by Premier Giuseppe Conte, which could be integrated into the March 1 decree and be adopted throughout the whole country.”

It comes after the latest update from the Government on the Coronavirus, which has 2,263 positive cases, an increase of 428 compared to just yesterday.

The deaths have also shot up to 79, an increase of 27 from Monday.

There are also 160 who have recovered from the illness, 11 more than at this time yesterday.

I have mentioned it since the whole debate was started. Either you play behind closed doors or you suspend the league indefinitely. There's no other option if you have the slightest interest for public health. There's no sign things are getting better with the virus. Quite the contrary.

We're in this mess because Rube refuse to play behind closed doors.

Exactly. Now the question is, why did Marotta allow Lega do this favor for juBentus - not to accept playing behind closed doors?

Sure, it would pinpoint the demons, but at the price of suspending the championship? Perhaps they will think twice the next time when they install a new President :D

On the one hand, I feel we should tread carefully with trolling the league this much. Let's use the fantastic team and the coach we have, restore the game plan from the first few months and enjoy the rest of the season.

On the other, I'm like "Burn em all".

Sadly, I think the reality is we are more likely to end up in cul-de-sac and cave. No that that I don't trust Marotta, it's just hard to change so much so quick and with what? Letters? And Rube is a genuine bad faith actor imob
