We need an immediate replacement for Icardi in the summer but we need to get that done now, if we want Wanda to shut up.

When will this guy meet Icardi face to face? Interested to know what happens. Reports coming in that none from our squad protested at the decision to remove Icardi as captain.

Probably because no one in our squad gives a fuck about anything

It's possible, but I would rather bet that they all realise that things changed with Inter when Marotta came. All these things coming up in recent months is no coincidence. And no... that's not because Marotta is an idiot, which I think he proved in his tenure at juBe. I would rather think that some people thought nothing will change and will just go with the "usual", when they could do whatever with little consequences, but they thought wrong and we have to endure things like that for some time until they all realise it's brand new world at Inter. Bringing somebody who wants there to be acountability does bring things like that and I'm so glad about it, because after this shitshow of unprofesionalism that we had magnified in recent months, the time of normality will arrive, which we didn't have for decades.

I'm sure there are some players that are close friends with Icardi and don't like this too much, but I'm guessing they think now in terms like these: "If they could strip Icardi of captaincy in the middle of the season, what could they do to me if I speak against the club/management. I'd rather keep my mouth shut." I'd say that is why nobody says anything.

Keep it roling Marotta and do your thing. You have many fans behind you (and all pundits as well).

This argument is stupid. I don't even know why Ausillo brought this up as well. How many players have publicly opposed decisions made by the club? Which players publicly opposed JZ's drastic step down by Mazzarri? And essentially forced retirement?

Did that mean then that the players agreed and supported WM benching JZ for the whole season?

Zanetti was almost 41 when he retired and i believe Mazzarri benched him with good reason. Not even Zanetti Is immortal

That's not the point. The point is there's a good way and a bad way. The players who replaced him were garbage. For someone to go from 4000min to 400 is ludicrous. So the way we dealt with JZ was BAD. And to do it for WM, who got fired what, 2 months into the next season......so we did it for what exactly?

But no player came out supporting JZ and denouncing the club's decision. That's the point. Real question.....you think all of the players supported JZs treatment? Their silence meant that they supported ABSOLUTE club legend being dealt this way? It was essentially a forced retirement.

I wasn't under the impression that Zanetti was kind of mistreated tbh but ok.

Forced retirement? He was 41. Also he had an achilles heel injury around that time.

Zanetti recovered from that injury but wasn't played much with coach Mazzarri. IMO he was still fit to play at least for one more season but Inter decided that it would be better him to stop playing and becoming vice president.

Loads of people here were completely pissed off by his refusal to play him, especially in his last milan derby

bro....I don't even know what to say to this.

But regardless, the point isn't about JZ's circumstance per se. It's about this whole nonsense about "teammates didn't oppose the club decision" with Icardi must mean something, when in reality, it means nothing.

The reality is that it might mean nothing, and it might not. That's the reality.

Zanetti at 41 with the recovered injury was still better than all of the payers on that squad along with that so called coach.

Zanetti wasn't planning to retire that season. We never heard he was gonna retire even after the injury. I still remember Zanetti said numerous times that "The tractor is only changing its tyre". However, closer to the end of that season we suddenly heard Zanetti was going to retire. It came with more surprises because on the last match of the season he revealed Cambiasso, Milito and Samuel were leaving Inter as well. It was such a coincidence for all 4 of them left at the same time, especially Cambiasso who still performed in Leicester. I'm sure Zanetti wouldn't mind to take a less role on the pitch.

They were forced to leave although I do not think it came from Mazzarri, but Thohir. I think it was done as a budget cut. They were the last 4 of the treble team whose salaries were upgraded by Moratti.

If you watch again Zanetti's speech on his last day as a player, it doesn't reflect someone who has spent 20 years in the club and achieved everything achievable. It was a bland politically correct speech. Not enough heart or emotion in his words and facial expression that day. Many people said it was because that's just the way Zanetti is. Nope. The man was full of emotion when he finally won CL, but he became emotionless when his journey finally comes to an end?

It's kind of sad looking back what we have done to the treble winners. The way Lucio, Maicon and Julio Cesar left were also awkward. Needless to say about Eto'o and Sneijder.

It's a sad truth.

The fact they never mention anything makes my heart bleeds every time I remember it.

It's a sad story. But maybe there was no other solution. We were a broke club, at the bottom of the barrel with money and most of them were old players with big salaries. Actually only Eto'o, Maicon or Motta left for similar money.
The most sincere solution would have been to meet with all of them and tell that: we love you, you know what you mean to us, but unfortunately we are in deep financial shit and have no money.

At the end of the day that team was too expensive for our financial power. Until today we paid the price for this CL.

Beppe is speaking to Sky Italia right now. Only dude in recent years that actually makes me feel like he knows what he’s doing, regardless of whether he does or not.

More importantly, he just said: “This incident does not compromise Icardi’s future at Inter, and it had nothing to do with the contract negotiation”. He also mentioned the importance of group dynamics, and said he had promised Wanda a meeting and a new contract offer within the next few weeks last time he spoke to her.
