What game were you watching? Biabiany played on the right. He only moved to the left when Perisic came off the field.

Hence, putting, not starting.

At least we scored a goal at the very least every game, good enough improvement from last season's preseason if I remembered correctly.

Because that would have been a much better solution, right? We were down 4-1 at that point, who gives a shit where Biabiany played?

its not about giving a shit, its just a logical choice to put your (mainly) left back on the left wing while letting your right winger on the right wing.
surely it wouldnt have changed nothing, but its kinda like trying ranocchia at centre forward... it doesnt bringt you anything

Who else was he supposed to put there?

This is a tactical inflexibility problem, a question for Mancini, not for me. I am not here to solve his problem, unless he's handing me his salary.

So when you have taken off your left winger and is left with none, no other options on the bench. The solution he came up with is let's try sticking a pure right winger there despite he has no characteristics in playing as an inverted winger.

This is like in FM you have a right winger with full compatibility but with red ratings for the left wing. I don't think even FM players have the sense to stick him there and hope for it just works out, just because you have to force a formation upon your squad despite there is insufficient resource to support it.

Lets just hope he doesn't do funny things like that in competitive matches, but I guess it does provide some degree of entertainment.

So, we can calm down now since Barcelona lost to Liverpool 4-0.. but seeing how Liverpool has grown under Klopp.. I am devastated.

Not taking anything away from Liverpool, but I trust Barcelona were holding back and didn't really play to win. Had that been a Champions League tie, they would simply play their true football and murder Liverpool.

The same can't be said about us in the Tottenham game. They simply went out of the first gear and annihilated us because we were that fucking clueless and awful in the second half, plain and simple.

Did you watch the game? Barca definitely weren't holding back anything in the first half. Also keep in mind Liverpool weren't full strength either. 4-0 scoreline is flattering but irrelevant. It was 1-0 first half.

Liverpool played some damned good football both offensively but particularly impressive defensively (shape, spacing, transition and situational pressuring).

Pre-season scoring is largely irrelevant. How the team is executing the playbook is. If your team is executing certain tactical plans but losing the game, that's ok. If you're winning but not executing, that's actually NOT ok. Obviously, losing AND not executing anything is terrible (Inter).

If you have seen Liverpool, then you would understand my point. Liverpool under Klopp, who has spent similar amount of time (actually less) compared to Mancini, is slowly transforming from a joke into a threat. You can say Barcelona is not at their best, but Liverpool goals came from a good teamplay, constant pressure towards Barcelona, fast counter attack. You can see they clearly have done their homework.

Had our game vs Tottenham was a CL game.. it would end up the same way. The way we played that game is similar how we played many of our games last season. No improvements whatsoever. We can always say its pre-season, no one really cares. Well, the real game is in 2 weeks and we are still in shambles.

For me, if there is any clubs out there we should compare with is Liverpool. They were the jokes like we are now.

I actually thought those first 40 minutes werent bad. Miranda, Murillo* and Banega were looking beastly. It all fell apart when Spurs were scoring from edge of box like it was a practice game.

That DM spot needs to be covered better. I think EPL teams are so much better at long distance shots, thats why it caught us off guard. As much I dislike Medel, we need him.
