If they bring Tare that would be fucking awesome. I am not saying that on a biased opinion, but Lazio for the last few years has been operating on a budget of peanuts. Theyre literally one of few Italian teams actually making a profit.
The players hes brought to Lazio include Klose, Biglia, Hernanes, Lulic, Candreva, Marchetti, etc..
People give too much credit to directors who spend freely, but not ones who work with very little.
Him or Sabatini will do.
Clearly you know practically nothing about Roma or Lazio.
Tare is universally hated by Lazio fans. He has ZERO testicular fortitude in the face of Lotito, simply carrying out his orders (especially in the mercato), so he's precisely what we DON'T need atm.
If I recall correctly, Lotito made him Lazio's sporting director because he constantly communicated to the President what was going on in the dressing room, and the requests of the squad to the administration. He's simply inept, to the point that Lazio fans have been calling for his head for 2-3 years now.
Sabatini, on the other hand, is incapable of fulfilling a
directorial role (choosing to solely focus on scouting and negotiations in the mercato). In fact, at Palermo, one of the biggest problems with the squad was the irregular balance between older and younger players, to the point it was obvious that the club's unhealthy dependency on youngsters for results would inevitably result in failure.
He is undoubtedly EXTREMELY one dimensional as a sporting director, and can only offer anything worth noting in the mercato, but he's EXCELLENT at what he does (in this regard). The most stunning examples of where he sold a player he purchased for peanuts at a fantastically high price are Marquinhos, Pastore, and Kjaer. Other cheap players that he brought to Lazio, Palermo, and Roma (during his respective tenures at all three clubs) are Abel Hernandez, Ilicic, Radu, Muslera, Kolarov (who was later sold to Manchester City for 20 million), Pjanic, and Castan - to name a few
Brilliance in scouting aside, he's quite incapable of plugging particular holes in the team, always opting to go for a cheap talented young player, neglecting positional prioritization in terms of spending in the mercato. He also manages older players in the squad VERY badly
Here's an analogy (albeit something of a hyperbole) that can explain Sabatini's mindset:
If he can buy 3 EXTREMELY talented young CFs for the same price as 3 average quality defensive players (that have been requested by the coach), he'll do it.
