Roma have bought Strootman. Pretty sure he'll be starting.

Heck, even Udinese will be interesting to watch next year:

Brkic
Bubnjić Danilo Domizzi
Basta - Allan - Badu - Siqueiria
Lopez - Di Natale
Muriel

And they also have options of Pereyra and Maicosuel in the AM.

:awyeah: that's how i remember him!

The more other teams do bussiness the more I think Inter will struggle. We'll see how these teams look on the field.

I just hope they don't set some stupid CL or bust BS and fire Mazzarri at the end of the season and do it all over again next summer.

He's actually ridiculously underrated. Personally if we couldn't get Naiggolan and wanted a Serie A alternative I'd say he'd be the best option. Only thing is that he likes to go on big runs forward quite often, but he's pretty hard to dispossess typically.

In that case, and if De Sanctis is in fact Roma's new GK:

De Sanctis
Maicon Marcos Benatia Balzaretti
De Rossi
Strootman - Pjanic
Lamela - Destro - Totti

It's still quite the squad.

I remember Zenit were negotiating for him in March; don't know if their interest is still there.

I feel that both Roma and Fiorentina have stronger starting lineups than we do right now

Very true, and their squads look built for effective possession football (though a think Fiorentina need a bit more defensive depth in the midfield).

Tbh even Lazio has a better starting lineup because of its crazy balance and depth across all areas of the squad (and the starting quality of many of the substitutes).

Lets see. If the Inter summer mercato goes as it seems to be planned (Nainggolan & Isla in, Ranocchia out are the most persistent rumors) how do you guys compare it with the other Serie A first 11s?

---------------------------------Handa-------------------------------

------------Campagnaro---------Samuel---------------Juan-----------

---Isla------------Nainggolan------------Cambiasso-------Naga-------

---------------------------Kovacic-----------------------------------

-------------------Palacio-----------Icardi/Belfodi--------------------

Obviously its just speculation and much of this can change but I feel this has a more than 50% chance of being Inter's starting 11. So again how would you you guys rate this against other Serie A squads? I feel like it could challenge for CL but more likely fall short of that mark so I would rate it 4th/5th best in the league but you guys have a better sense of Serie A than me.

I'd think he'll use Marquinho in the squad, because then the midfield will be stronger defensively, and thereby more balanced. Florenzi and Pjanic together would create a gap in the central midfield, which will leave the defence exposed.

Lazio will also be great next year; even the substitute XI has many players of starting quality.

Marchetti
Cavanda Dias Novaretti Radu
Biglia - Gonzalez
Candreva - Hernanes - Lulic
Klose

Substitute XI:

Berardi
Konko Ciani Cana Biava
Onazi - Ledesma
Ederson - Anderson - Vinicius
Perea

They might, but not if we get Isla and Nainggonlan. We will have little advantage on paper. The team is more important tho, chemistry between the players and good setup. That's on Mazzarri, we will see how it goes.

edit: dont forget however that some players might leave their respective teams. Like De Rossi to EPL is very very high possibility. Marquinho to PSG is almost done according the french media. Pjanic might leave as well. Also you are judging by names, Maicon is not half the player he was two years ago, let alone at his best. Their defenses are mediocre at best. Totti is in his last season and declining. Destro is huge question mark. Benatia too, especially after the shit last season he had, and the fact he has only played in 3 at the back, will need some time to settle in 4 men defense formation. And so on, and so on...

Oh and, they will have De Sanctis as a GK  Same level as Goicoechea. Stekelenburg is twice the GK, i have no idea why they sold him for that cheap.

Same goes for us. We dont know if and who will leave. And we don't know how Mazzarri will set the team up, how Kova, Juan, and Icardi/Belfodil will perform.

Personally, I feel Juve will be champion with huge margin, and Inter, Napoli, Fiorentina and Milan will be fighting for the rest two CL spots. Lazio and Roma will disappoint once again. Will be very interesting season tho, can't wait to get started.

edit 2: Btw, according to transfermarkt, we are in the third place after Napoli and JuBe with players value :D

Roma will be very strong next season:

Julio Cesar

De Rossi
Marquinho Pjanic
Lamela - Destro - Totti

They have a squad able to contend for CL places.

Huh strong squads ... When you add Fiorentina, Milan and Napoli it's even worse for us. Were fucked.

Well the rumours are that Roma would replace Pjanic with Erickson or Halilovic. I really doubt De Rossi will leave as the American owners need to stay onside with the fans. Maicon's backup will be Torosidis who I think is a really good player. Roma have a wonderfully talented squad, and with the right coach that could be fantastic. Whether Garcia is that coach is another thing. Strootman could be massive for them. There biggest loss will probably be getting rid of Osvaldo, as like you, I don't rate Destro that highly. There are lots of unknowns with Roma like always, but theoretically if their 2nd year defenders they brought over from South America start to get to grips with the league they'll be an awfully technical and tricky side to beat.

Imagine though:

Strootman - De Rossi
Lamela-Erickson-Totti
-Striker-

That midfield/attack is scary good.

As for our squad being the 3rd most expensive, is it because our squad is absolutely massive?

I agree with all of this. Particularly the part in bold

Hopefully Rafa fucks Napoli up too.

Lazio, I don't know how much they can disappoint because thier squad isn't that great on paper, and they don't have the budget we or Roma have.

But Roma yeah, might disappoint once again, on paper they're easily top 4, anything below would be a failure.
Juve won't win the league by a huge margin, I can see them doing better in UCL this year and thous having more injuries/screwing up in Serie A. Although it will be nearly impossible to take the scudetto badage from them..
