Former Inter full-back Yuto Nagatomo admits ‘I risked my life’ after he suffered a collapsed lung while playing for Galatasaray.

Nagatomo has not played since his collision during Galatasaray’s 0-0 draw with Schalke last month, but the Japanese is grateful that he is still alive.

“After the game against Schalke, the doctor told me to go immediately to hospital,” he told reporters.

“If I didn’t, I’d have risked my life. Now I’m in good condition.”

The 32-year-old made 210 appearances for Inter before joining the Turkish giants at the turn of the year.

Former Inter full-back Yuto Nagatomo is reportedly a candidate to replace Cristiano Biraghi at Fiorentina.

Biraghi seems set to return to Inter before the month is out, and Tuttomercatoweb claims Fiorentina have already approached Galatasaray over a possible deal.

However, the website writes he is only one of several names they are looking at.

The 32-year-old played 210 times for Inter between 2011 and 2018 and also had a six-month stint with Cesena.

He has gone on to win two Turkish titles with Gala, although injuries hampered his 2018-19 campaign.

The Japan international would be a low-cost option, given he has entered the final 12 months of his contract.
