Your REALISTIC Inter squad or line-up

This is not MY lineup, but according to Recalcati it's Mourinho's ideal lineup. I think someone asked elsewhere who Recalcati was. He's the commentator for Inter games on Mediaset channels. Sort of like Scarpini no. 2, and might become his successor.


INTER (4-4-2) Julio Cesar, Maicon, Lucio, Samuel, Santon; Cambiasso, Motta, Stankovic, Hleb; Cassano, Eto'o.

A DISPOSIZIONE: Toldo, Orlandoni, Materazzi, Cordoba, Chivu, Zanetti, Muntari, Quaresma, Obi, Khrin, Balotelli, Arnautovic e Milito.

I hope, with Ibra leaving, we bring in another striker, Cassano is most likely, creative midfielder and a good young box to box midfielder like Hamšik.

I would like Hamsik instead of Stankovic. But mostly I'm curious why Mourinho's preferred formation doesn't have wide players. He has always insisted the width of the team on the pitch. Vertically compact but horizontally wide.

So Recalcati is saying that he wants to play 4-4-2 and not 4-3-3? I dont know how accurate this lineup might be.

Our team will be 3x better than Zlatan's Inter. With Cassano, I just hope another midfielder comes out of Elano/Hamsik/Sneijder or even Deco for creativity's sake. I have high hopes for the coming season. Yes, we'll struggle a little at the start due to all the new players but in the end it'll be worth it.

My only concern is the excessive amount of players. :stuckup:

It's actually seeming to be a good thing that Ibra is leaving. Players like Quaresma, Mancini and Balotelli will see more of the ball and we will be more of a TEAM than a one man band. Just get Cassano and Hamsik and we're set.

LW19, that is good, one of my favourites but I miss Santon + Muntari there, I think we need them, but our midfield is great Motta is good at Inter and I'm happy for that. Also we have strong defend, that's great.

btw, Include Quaresma in Hamsik's position and hopefully Ibra will be in Eto'o-s postition, so probably we can play with that formation vs Chelsea, I would like to win that match.

having 3 strikers in starting line up isn't good, because if the opponent score first then play very defensively, the team will not have other attacking option

We can always rotate between JZ and santon, also in center of defence we have enough players, so fixed name is not a must, just start better pair/players at that moment.

For midfield, having deki, muntari, motta, and hamsik fight for 2 starting places left is good, ofc if cambiasso keeps his performance and fit to play. Using a natural AM for this kind of midfield is not a better option imo, coz we use 3 strikers, with less defensive ability and, maybe, will.

We can always buy cassano later, if jose does not find the current players in attacking departement are good enough. He has certain release clause fee, he possibly wants to move here, and no current strong suitors at the moment. Giving his experience in italy and "good relationship" with few players and manager, buying cassano at the end of transfer market is not as risky as quaresma's. I mean, at current condition, only milito, balotelli, and eto'o (if the swap deal is agreed) are good for starting line up. I'm not comfortable with the possibility of having (current) quaresma, mancini, or suazo start for us. Having at least 4 starting candidates for 3 positions is not a bad choice.

We maybe don't need to buy cassano if we can get hleb on loan, with barca paying the wage and option to buy. If money really tight of course. And i think if we go back to the usual 4312 for some reasons, we can use him there, instead of deki or other players. Good candidates on the paper.
