Qatar can get fucked. They're wanting to change the terms of the bid after they've won it, because they've realised that their original bid was a pipe dream.

This is the World Cup, and it should be hosted in as many different regions of the world as possible not just the same 3-4 places again and again.

Was kind of just trolling there, but no one is saying the world cup should be in europe every year. At least I'm not. Just that Brazil is not a good place to host the world cup at the moment, because of what wera said. Remember there were numerous violent protests near the stadiums during the confederations cup? And Qatar.... well. The less said about that, the better I suppose. But then, it isn't Qatars fault they want to host a world cup, just FIFAs fault for taking the money as always.

Doesn't matter winter or summer, world cup in Qatar is just so so wrong. Not sure how many people will be stuck there for their lifetime without getting exit Visa and how many people live like slaves working in some construction against their will.

First of all there is nothing called exit visa. The reason that some people cannot leave the country is because their passports are withheld. This happens in a lot of countries for foreigners not just Qatar. The reason for that is because a lot of people from poor countries like India, Nepal, Indonesia and Bangladesh come to Gulf states to work, mostly as maids, driver and construction workers, and the crime rates is high between these groups. After comitting the crime obviously they try to leave the country.

I myself have some personal experience inthat area. A friend of mine had a driver for years and one day this guy decides to rub the safe in their house. He then, kills the father, steals the key from him, rubs the safe and leaves the country. Poor girl, her mother died when she was a child and then her father was killed. Now what if they had the guy's passport? He could have not run away!

I am not saying I agree with passport withholding. A lot of these people are good people but crimes like what I just mentioned forces your hand.

Second point, no one is working against his will. These people voluntareely apply for jobs in the Gulf and they know that their passports are going to be withheld. They know what they are getting into but poverty forces them to apply for these jobs. That's not Qatar's fault!

A lot of these people even after sending them back when their contract expire they keep coming back.

Why these people keep coming back? Why everyday more and more of these people come to the Gulf?Why the ratio of locals to asians in Gulf states is 1:4? And it keeps getting higher and higher every year!

Also, there are some assholes on the other side too. A lot of these workers get abused. Im not saying the locals here are completely fault-free.

Look, I didn't want to comment on this but I felt like it was getting blown out of proportion. Thought I should have made it clear.

When you hear the story from both side, only the. You can make a conclusion.

That is same as withholding the passport. Some withhold the passport and some ask for exit permit.

I am not in anyway defending these practices but all I am saying is that when you know the whole story it helps to understand the situation better.

Obviously you find a lot of asian criminals and at the same time a lot of arab assholes and what is happening to that french footballer, if true, is very sad. But again you don't know the whole story so don't judge until you know everything.

This kind of behavior happens everywhere in the world. Maybe not in the same exact way but similar ways. The way that some foreigners (and in some cases even the locals) get treated when entering the US is another example. Some could say that it is wrong but some others might argue that this is their country and they have the right to defend it whichever way they see fit. If you don't like it then don't go there.

Same with Qatar and any other Gulf state. If you don't like it don't go there. It is not like it is happening in secret! They know what is going on still every year more and more come to the Gulf.
