I found it hard to expres because my english isn't so good.
let me try again - In Lazio, was Mancini using alot his wingers for crosses or his side backs. For comparation - Milan uses Cafu alot, also Kaladze or Pancaro at the left for their crosses. They don't use classic wingers... do you copy now?

In Inter, Stankovic isn't winger. Emre neither

Best tactics: 4-3-2-1
Something like this:

...............Adriano..............
.......Veron-van der Mayde....
.....Davids-Emre-Stankovic.....
Coco-Materazzi-Cannavaro-J.Zanetti

.........GK(just no Toldo)..........

a. 4.1.3.2

------------------Toldo---------------- (Unfortunaly)
J.zanetti-Cannavaro-Cordoba-Favalli
-----------------Davids---------------
---Stankovic-----Veron-----Emre---
---------Adriano----Martins----------

Problem: either Stankovic or Emre is a natural winger. they are bouth best on the central midfield...yes we have AvM and Kily but they diden't play well last season...

but we will probertly play like this
----------------Toldo-------------------
J.zanetti-Cannavaro-Cordoba-Favalli
Stankovic---Davids---Veron---Cesar*
-----------Adriano----Vieri-------------

*either him or Janakulovski it all depence on who will arrive

but I still have some promles to see why we have baught Ze Maria   a sub, hmm NO way that he will be satisfied with that.

It's true, emre isn't a winger. But he showed under Cuper that he can play on the wing.
But IMO its waisting his talent to let him play on the wing. Emre always was, is and will be a central midfielder.

I don't know why Mancini wanted Cesar/Jankulovski, but if we think it otherwise in a different manner, one of the reason cud be:

# May be he does intend to play a diamond midfield, but if that is the case the RB and LB will have to work their ass off. They will have to defend and at the same time help in attack as well. We all know we have one player of that kinda - J.Zanetti, but we haven't got such a player in the LB position. Cesar, if played in LB or Jankulovski can be the perfect player for the other wing.

J.Zanetti--Cordoba--Cannavaro--Cesar/Janku
----------------Davids/Veron---------------------
---Veron/Stan/Dav---Emre/Stan/Veron--------
-----------------Stan/Veron-----------------------

It would be great if it works. And there is where the purchase of Cesar/Janku wud come in very handy, as they wud have to help in midfield/defence/offence ....

May be that is why we got Ze Maria, and not loaned Pasquale yet. Pasquale is another player, whose pace and crosses (if he works better) wud be helpful for the tactic.

a very good point. We have Ze maria and il capitano who are good RB's and can attack well. and for the left we do have Pasquale, but at this point, we cant use him every game. because

A) not experinced enough and the result is
B) he simply is not good enough (hope one day he will)
but he will be a good back up to the attacking left back.
but now a dilemma. who to play?
favalli? too defensive.
cordoba? same problem.
same as materazzi.
the only option we have OTHER than purchasing jankulovski or cesar is if we kept Coco and he were fit enough. coco said he prefers left back instead of right, and when he use to be fit he was great and if he was fit now i think he can still be great.

So if he wont be fit i agree we must buy a new left back. but that also means releasing Coco once and for all. but if his problems are gone, then he could be our left back. (which looks unlikely)

It looks as if Mancini knows what he wants.
and i guess we dont really know exactly whats going to happen.
but i do know one thing....

whatever the outome is i want this resolved really soon! we cant let it drag on for too long.

so in other words who ever is going to leave, shall either be released on a free contract, sold or loaned. and the people there going to bring in should be brung in.

I would agree with Gismo. I don't think Mancini will use him at LB unless there is an emergency.

If Cesar arrives I am also sure that he will be played as LM...Because if he is braught to the teams as a LB then the transfer of Favalli would have been unnecessary.

Mancio relies on young guns Monday 9 August, 2004

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Roberto Mancini insists Adriano and Obafemi Martins will be his first choice pairing this season, but both could miss the Basel clash.

“Adriano and Martins will create an incredible partnership upfront, not just this year but for a decade to come. Perhaps I will teach them a trick or two.”

This is an important statement from the former Sampdoria and Lazio legend, who had convinced Christian Vieri to stay on at the club despite interest from Real Madrid and Juventus.

“Vieri won’t play every single game,” conceded Mancini, “but I’m sure his input will allow us to win a few matches.”

The Italian international is notoriously ill tempered when forced to sit on the bench, as Alberto Zaccheroni learned last season when Vieri often refused to take his seat.

However, there are rather more pressing problems for the Nerazzurri as they prepare for Wednesday’s Champions’ League preliminary round trip to Basel.

There are injury worries to contend with, as Vieri, Martins, Fabio Cannavaro, Cristiano Zanetti and the suspended Sinisa Mihajlovic are out of action, while Nicolas Burdisso is at the Olympics with Argentina.

“I don’t know if Adriano will be able to play,” admitted Mancini as the Brazilian returned to Italy this morning following the tragic death of his father last week. “He is free to choose what he wants to do, but obviously we’d love to have him with us in Switzerland.”

It looks likely that Alvaro Recoba will take one of the starting places, with Julio Cruz perhaps stepping in if Adriano is not 100 per cent fit.

“The Swiss outfit are not to be underestimated,” he told the Gazzetta dello Sport, “as they have already beaten Manchester United and Juventus on their home turf. Above all, they are five weeks into their League season and are therefore at a more advanced stage of fitness preparation.”

Much is expected of Inter this season, as Mancini must provide entertaining play as well as results.

“Attractive football is a way of getting victories rather than an end in itself. At Inter there is a fear of failure and the best way to be rid of that is for players to enjoy their work, but that doesn't mean the result is secondary."

"I have learnt a lot from maestros of the game like Vujadin Boskov and Sven Goran Eriksson, but I can see Arrigo Sacchi’s influence in a lot of my teams.”

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that English referee Graham Poll will be in charge of Inter’s crunch match against Swiss outfit Basel and German official Herbert Fandel oversees Juve’s tie with Djurgarden.

*Looks at his avatar and drools* :dielaugh:

I really think Adriano-Martins is the best duo in attack, possibly the best in Serie A... definetly the best in Serie A!

It´s the best in the world man. But if Vieri can regain his topform Adriano-Vieri is even stronger. We have luxury problems man... :star:

If this is really what Mancini said, then it's a great news for us. coz, Martins ---- Adriano wud be the great pair for us, I guess. And we won't have to worry, if one gets injured/not fit/ bla bla, coz Vieri will be there.

Adriano and Vieri will learn alot from Vieri, and may be Vieri won't make complaints against his friend.

Recoba - I haven't forgotten him. :D
