You say we weren't scoring no matter what the rest of the game no matter what, but:

a) there are plenty of games that look like that and, magically, a goal does get scored because this is a strange sport where spontaneous things can happen

b) if we were level on points with Milan vs. being two points behind, the difference is Milan has the pressure on them to win every game. As it was, they could afford one draw and still be ok. It turned out they won their remaining games anyway so it didn't end up mattering, but there was a brief moment in Verona late in the season where they trailed 1-0 near halftime (Verona were a decently good team that year) and the pressure would've been different if they knew they needed to overturn that into a win vs. "well, a draw here isn't the end of world".

So to minimize Radu's error into "well, do the math on the final table" is too reductionist.
And who's to say that we would have won the remaining of the matches had we not lost that one? The whole conversation is a moot point and simply solely blaming on Radu is being simplistic.

I agree with that. It's never on one thing or one player. It's just as easy to point to De Vrij in the home derby that year and the two Giroud goals...obvious 6-point difference right there. It just happened earlier in the season and there were still three months to play. I wrote at the time that the composition of the results vs. Milan that year were dead even; 1W, 2D, 1L for both of us, but our win was in the Coppa, their win was in the league, and they would gladly take their end of that exchange every single time. Dimarco missed a penalty late vs. Atalanta. We lost a late lead at the Meazza vs. Juve. Points were squandered in more games than that one against Bologna. It didn't help that, obviously, Radu's mistake was just so fucking pathetic and that he violated the #1 rule about being a back-up, which is "just don't make a total fuck up mistake".

I don't disagree, it was just overall a bad season. Hope Inzaghi redeems himself this season.

@ElDuccio fair point and i think it would be cool to share some of those experiences and things that may be forgotten. I like the idea.

So an off field incident that may be forgotten. Not sure how many remember it. We're back in 2009/10. Balotelli is invited to a TV show. At a point there's a kid from the audience asks from Balotelli to stay till Inter win Champions League. And then fucking BBilanista goes and say:"So you want to stay at Inter forever".

Compare this to Eto'o saying he came to win CL on his first day as an Inter player and it's no surprise why they had the careers they did.

Exactly, this is what i wanted. You know there are some small things you think about sometimes. Even if some things are stupid, it's interessting to "collect" this memorys, maybe even talk about it of course. Some times to me it happends that i think about some banter era "events" and wonder how low we were fallen. I honestly started hating everyone. Players, coach, president. That was really a bunch of idiots.

I swear i forgot about this Balotelli interview but i think i remember something now, totally forgot this tbh. Its the same with the Milan shirt that he weared for a tv show, what a cunt. But that was something everyone should remember probably.

I have never forgotten 26 April 1998 because the cheating was so blatant and obvious. At the time, I felt that if the Authorities did not take action following that game, then the integrity of Serie A would always be compromised.

5 May 2002 was crushing in a different way: we could not deliver on the day and the efforts of a long season crumbled before our eyes. More than anything in that game, I remember Gresko's errors and Materazzi's distress.

For me, the loss against Milan on the away goals rule does not compare to either of the above.

In terms of which one is worse, 26 April 1998 or 5 May 2002, I would rank them as being of the same magnitude: dates, matches and results that I will never forget when Inter deserved far more than the final results.

To be honest, I never thought to consider last season's Champions League loss to Manchester City. The thing about that loss is that I expected it. The way we performed was beyond belief which kind of makes the loss hurt because we were actually in with a good chance but a certain Belgian with poor positioning and reading of the game singlehandedly thwarted our hopes.

the Radu goalie error in late April 2022 when we had a game in hand for the scudetto race and gave the title to Milan
I forgot about that....We should have won our 20th Scudetto in 2022.

Glad to see many of you had the same problem with EPL fuckers (we are Serie A fuckers to them).
Growing up in Australia, no ability to watch Serie A unless you had RAI. I grew up with "English" fans who had no clue about Serie A or even football, being adamant that they had the best in forever and a day. I recall a Liverpool fan telling me how good Crouch was compared to Ibra, fucking idiots....unfortunately it makes me depressed how badly Serie A is declining.

As for Inter sad moments for me. I was too young to appreciate the bullshit result with Juve in 98 BUT I was 14 when we lost the Serie A title at Lazio that really began shaping the dramatic rollercoaster that happens when following this club. It was on the last day; I had to wait one week after, and it was on the Serie A catch-up on a Sunday morning...

Losing 6 - 0 to Milan, fucking embarrassing. I still say that Vieri was robbed of a PK
Losing the Semi-Final to Milan in the Champion League in 02/03

And to be fair the whole early 2000's period, If it wasnt Milan with Shevchenko always dominating, it was Juve and then it was always some fuck wit club like Roma or Lazio in between winning Serie A.

And the merry go-well of coaches - Lippi, Tadelli, Cuper, Zacheroni and the shit show that is crazy Inter...

Skip to min 2:06;

Not here to excuse Radu's terrible error but I'm far more annoyed by de Vrij's approach here. Someone as experienced as him should have taken responsibility here and blow the ball away or even throw it to corner if you feel that risk is close. He's got a player on his back, certainly opponent was going for the ball as he was on the run, as soon as de Vrij refused to approach the ball, I saw the risk coming.

It was just a strain of mistakes here (Perisic's throw-in backwards into a dangerous zone while being pressed by opponents), Radu's positioning and ect, but to me, the biggest culprit here is de Vrij. Should have gone for the safest and easiest choice instead of creating a complicated situation for Radu.

Losing to Liverpool 2-0 in what, 2007 was it?
I had been bragging to everyone at school about how we would destroy them, ibra will rip them apart, we are way too good for them etc.
Learned a lesson to keep my mouth shut at least but fuck I was so gutted for so long after that.
Same game came to mind. First time watching Inter in a bar and first time watching Inter abroad. I was 17, studying as an exchange student in Spain. Went to a local pub to watch the game as the only Inter fan in the whole place. It was gonna be a long game after Materazzi red card in the first half. I had to endure the constant bullshit the locals were dishing out, both to me and to Inter and then finally 5 mins before full time, the whole bar erupts. Just hated every single person in the bar as much as the Liverpool players. Second goal just before final whistle and I furiously walked out of the place.

Another one, which wasn't an Inter game, but is a horrific memory, was Eriksen injury. We traveled first through Finland, took a boat to Stockholm and then drove through Sweden with a car. Had to get 5 covid tests in total btw. Finally, Parken and great seats, huge anticipation and big hopes for the first ever game of Finland in Euros. Then Eriksen fell to the ground, seemingly out of nothing, just 20 meters from where we were standing. Disbelief, when I saw the medical staff giving CPR to him. Tears on everyone's eyes. At that point I wasn't thinking of Inter player dying, just felt awful to see any person die like that. After a while, we started chanting Christian's name and Danes replied with Eriksen. Shouting as hard as we could, thinking maybe it gives him some strength to carry on. Then we heard that while he was carried out, he signed that he's OK which was a huge relief to everyone. We decided to leave the game when the announcement came that the play will continue after a short while. It just seemed inhumane and complete bullshit from Uefa to demand Danish players to continue after they witnessed one of their teammates collapse and basically die on the field. I couldn't handle the emotional stress as a fan, how could the players? Left the game and didn't see the first Finland goal in international tournament, but I've never regret it.

On a personal level, 31 January 2016 - Milan 3-0 Inter. I was at that one with a friend who is a Milan fan. We started the game the better team but just couldn't score. It was part of yet another slide from winter champions to also-rans.

I don't think I've felt the same way as I do now. Team with huge potential, going well in the league, put out against a team we are clearly better than but they just have champions league pedigree

This one.

It doesnt hurt me losing in the CL finals as it does hurt me getting knocked out yesterday. This team has only 3 loses this season, from Sassuolo, Bologna and Atletico. We are super good, not conceding much goals keeping clean sheets and breaking records all season, players having their best atmosphere and everyone talks how great this Inter is and we are out from the CL like this...

Hurts. Today is even worse than yesterday... Fuck I just want this team to learn from all this and comeback and just conquer everything, like movie superheroes or smth.

The loss to City is infinitely more painful than both of these.
