Can we bring Wes back for the 2nd half of the season? I bet he could do better than any of these jabronis we’ve tried

Wesley was a quality player but lazy as fuck. He can't bring us to another level.

I haven't seen him play in years (I imagine 99% of us here haven't) been I'm pretty sure if we played every game that we had Brozovic/Mario as AM in 4231 this year we would have been better off.

He might bitch and complain as much as Brozovc if things aren't going great for him but he's also 50 times more talented.

Messi is the last player to deserve Balon dor 2010. If you gonna tell me Sneijder didn't deserve it then you should be giving it to Xavi or Iniesta. Theese fkn jokes.

Yeah he was definitely influential for both us and The Netherlands he made both teams tick, I watched every game of the Dutch and if it weren't for him they weren't making it as far as they did. In fact I believe a goal that could have been given to him against Brazil was given as an own goal (I may be wrong but there was a debate at the time but I think it ended up being counted as an own goal). If that was given the other way he'd have been named the sole top scorer. If Robben hadn't shit the bed in the final on two occasions Sneijder would have created two winning goals as well.

Former Dutch international Wesley Sneijder is in advanced negotiations with a Qatari side Al-Gharaffa Sports Club, De Telegraaf has reported.

The 33-year-old OGC Nice playmaker has largely failed to make an impact in Ligue 1 this season. Sneijder has been out of action since the middle of November and is widely expected to leave France this summer.

Despite the reports from Sports Illustrated that Wesley Sneijder was closing in on a move to the MLS side LA Galaxy, the former Real Madrid and Inter Milan midfield maestro has reportedly chosen to accept a lucrative offer from Qatar.

Sneijder has been offered a one-and-a-half-year deal until the summer of 2019, whereas the financial details of the offer have not been disclosed.

Dutchman is aware this is his last opportunity to grab a big contract and is keen on moving to the Middle East.

Sneijder: 'Juve won't win Champions'
By Football Italia staff

Wesley Sneijder won the Champions League with Inter, but doubts Juventus can do the same, even with Cristiano Ronaldo. “There are tougher teams.”

The Bianconeri became one of the favourites to lift the trophy after bringing in CR7 from Real Madrid, not to mention Emre Can, Blaise Matuidi, Paulo Dybala, Mario Mandzukic and Douglas Costa.

However, 2010 Treble winner Sneijder is unconvinced Juve will end their 22-year wait.

“I don’t think so,” he told beIN Sports.

“It’s not about one player you know, of course in the past years Juventus did a great job in the Champions League. But it’s not about one player who is going to change everything, that it’s going to change that much that you are going to win the Champions League.

“There are tougher teams than Juventus. For the league, OK it would surprise me if they don’t win the league, but the Champions League I think you need more for that."

“I think he won’t struggle in Italy at all. He has the quality and he is a professional so he will adapt soon, I am convinced of that.

“There is no way that Cristiano to not succeed in Italy. It’s a different competition than the Spanish league, but it’s all about adaptation. If he can adapt quick, it will be easy for him. He will make something very good there.

"The biggest difference is that in Italy it’s all about winning, it’s all about the result 1-0 is enough. Spain is more technical to show a nice game and to score even more goals three, four, five zero you know like that but in Italy they are fine with 1-0 they are happy with the three points."

Another scenario is FIGC/UEFA discovering the new juBe corruption scandal and banning them from all competitions for eternity.

This guy! I cannot believe how much our management fucked up with him and motta!!

I mean we wanted to cut costs and got rid of them both but fact is we have not really replaced either of them till this fucken season! I really think this was one of the biggest fuck ups our mgm ever made. We got rid of two starters who would have been starters till the start of this fucken season, because we wanted to save money on their wages. And to replace them we either got shit players or fucken youngsters who were not ready and we burned them in the process. I do think that if we just had kept this two players we probably would have been playing CL most of the years we missed out on it, cause lets face it our problems have always been the lack of an am and a DPL now we had two fucken great ones and we just tossed them away in order to save a couple of mios. And i m sure it cost us way more this way, yes they were on high wages but the transfer money spent alone on mario and hernanes is probably more than sneijder and mottas wages would have been all these years.

ANd think about all the players we got yes brozo might have benched motta towards the end of last season but before that when ever fit motta would have been the starter. And sneijder for sure would have been a starter when ever fit cause up until now that we got radja we only had absolute crap in that am position since wes left.

The worst thing about it all is that MM has never been stingy with his players and especially not when it comes to wages. But while recoba back in the day was the best earning player in serie a while sitting on the bench and MM had no troubles with it, somehow now Sneijder and motta had to leave despite them being important pilars of our team. It s really weird that we did this and i hope and pray that who ever took this decision back in the day is now not at the club anymore cause really that was beyond stupid.

He officially retired from NT just last night, with the record of most caps of all time (134). Was funny to see him play one more time... :eek:kay:

You need to take into account the economic situation of the time.
Moratti no longer had those guaranteed revenue streams due to the sudden drop in oil prices (the first hit occured during the treble season), Italy has been in the shit since the Eurozone crisis (2009-), Italian football was on the decline in terms of finances and UEFA was putting pressure on clubs to operate independently.

Moratti pulled the plug rather quickly, without much hesitation and I'm sure he'd handle things better if he knew how they'd play out.

Financially iirc, the biggest problem was that we had several players on huge salaries and we couldn't really reduce them (it was guys like Cambiasso, Milito, Zanetti perhaps etc) as they were recently signed after the treble. We barely managed to sell guys like Maicon, Motta and Sneijder but I think we didn't even get 25m for them combined. Eto'o was the only decent sale we made.

These are the post-treble salaries. Not sure who else got a pay rise after that. Also remember that our revenue was much less than they are today. Champions League money was significantly less as well.

No wonder we ended up in the shitter with salaries like that, Suazo and Mancini should never have been on those salaries and many of the older players should definitely had their salaries reduced. Especially considering most of them only had a year or two left of playtime with us

Found this which is even better as it shows multiple seasons. Only issue is that the letters are small but it's still visible.

Sneider (and Milito) got a raise after 2011. So did Lucio and Zanetti. Sneijder's pay jump was quite large as well, 50% rise.

2011-12 and 2012-13 was when shit hit the fan. In every sense.
