An aging zuniga still looks better than any of our fullback/wingback :eek:blivious:
Zuniga, behrami, and he almost got maggio. Seems like he is going to create his old napoli there

Mazzarri 'prefers attacking football'
By Football Italia staff

Watford boss Walter Mazzarri has discussed his success in his native Italy, pointing out that Napoli players such Edinson Cavani and Ezequiel Lavezzi were sold for large profits.

The former Inter man was keen to shrug off the stereotype of the defensive minded Italian Coach, instead preferring to focus on ‘attacking football’.

“I concentrate on attacking football in training more than most coaches in Europe", Mazzarri told the London Evening Standard. “I’ve always been considered a ‘tactical coach’ which is an honour."

"You can’t forget the defensive side of the game, because if you lose 6-5, it’s worthless, but I invite people to watch my sessions, so they can see the importance I give to the attacking side of the game.

“When I was at Napoli, we had Edinson Cavani, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Marek Hamsik in attack. Cavani and Lavezzi were sold for far more than they were bought.

“There have been others — Giampaolo Pazzini when I was at Sampdoria, Cristiano Lucarelli at Livorno, Nicola Amoruso at Reggina. “I’ve always managed to bring more out of my teams than what people thought was possible. I went from the fourth tier, to the third, to Serie B, to Serie A — in the space of three years. An incredible climb.

“There are thousands of cases of players who had fine careers with me but didn’t do quite as well at other clubs. I feel I am prepared for these challenges in a way that few others are."

“When I speak about football, I can seem arrogant, but I’m not. I just know what I’m capable of.

Is that why his 352 at Inter was 5 defenders and 2 DMs minimum?

We clearly aren't adept enough to understand these advanced attacking tactical ideas. We should stick with 442.

Mazzarri's entire attacking game at Inter was crossing to a striker who is less than 6 foot tall.

I like Mazzari. There, I said it.

You like as in, Walter can do good but unfortunately failed at Inter, or do you like him as in I liked him even at Inter?

Obviously the former. He can and did good up until his disastrous Inter stint, and I wish him good luck at Watford.

Yeah, I used to like Walter until he got the Inter job. His stubborness and constant search for excuses, however, made me lose much of the respect I had for him. If he does well at Watford and other clubs, maybe we'll go back and see Inter as nothing but a blip in his otherwise good career (as hard as it is for us, Inter fans, to dismiss a bad stint at our club).

I have a short-term memory so I don't really hold grudges and I try not to let my love for Inter affect my judgment or opinion. I disregard Mazzari's time here (as awful as it was) and look at the bigger picture (his whole career) and he has done extremely well. At the same time (me having a short-term memory) I don't cherish Mourinho as many people - rightfully - do here and almost worship him, on the contrary, many times I find my self hating his smug of a face and his obnoxious attitude towards everyone but his team, and that has even changed recently. I'd rather a manager blaming the fuckin weather than people he works with or constantly trying to play mind games, same reason I despise Fergie.

But that's just me, I value the character of the person in question just as much as their performance/results, which I know might not be the most sensible thing to do. And it could all be an act, or a defence mechanism, to deal with all the hate/pressure managers suffer. However, I feel like people such as Fergie and Mourinho do those things to gain a competitive advantage (like to put more pressure over referees to get more calls their way) which I think is pathetic.

Watford's in the south east, so the weather there is much better than, say, Stoke.
