I've been playing Assassin's Creed Valhalla for two days. This is my first AC game and as an rpg freak I have only one thing to say...PERFECT

Not to belittle your gaming knowledge, but none of these games are RPGs. Maybe the Souls games, but even those are their own genre by now.

I thought you played Witcher 3 (these new AssCreed games are similar to it), Dragon Age: Origins, Divinity: Original Sin 2, Pillars of Eternity,..


3rd person action games where you don't roleplay a character together with dialogue decisions are not RPGs. More power to you if you enjoy playing Valhalla, if it ever gets boring for multiple hours, just stop playing or go straight to the end of the story. Trust me.

He can try BG3 since it launches today, but then you can forget about all other games in the next 6-12 months xD

Pretty much. But seeing what games he referenced, he likes action games more, probably.

BG3 is going to be such a timesink that I don't want to buy it yet. Need to finish some other games first. Loved the decisions, battle system and humour from what I saw so far.

I bought it several months ago and played for couple of hours in early access, loved that you can literally interact with almost every single thing, loved the roll the dice thingy they put in the game, feels like you are playing session of D&D. I'll need to buy new SSD tho, since it runs like ass on simple HD.

Have you played Wasteland 3? It's like a simplistic version of Divinity: Original Sin, so if you ever want an isometric RPG with turn based combat and choice driven story, you might like it.

To be honest, I'm not a professional gamer. Sometimes I get confused because I don't know the game terminology very well.

Baldur's Gate 3 has already become a phenomenon but it looks like to me a PC game. I don't like the type. I'am more like a PS guy.

No problem. It's just going to be easier for me to recommend if I know what you really like. If you are into stories, might give Witcher 3 a chance too. Combat system isn't as good as Dark Souls, but everything else still holds up.

I havent even heard about that game tbh, and i see it's got good rating on steam, i might even buy it when i finish with BG3. Looks a lot like early Fallout games.

Something like Original Sin mixed with Fallout. If that sounds good to you, it's a good game (the DLC quests are a bit meh, but the base game is fun)

Based on this, I'd recommend The Witcher 3 for sure. Far Cry 3 still hold ups as well.

And if you like the AC games, Origin is also very good. But nothing beats AC4: Black Flag (pirate AC game)

Beat 'em up like: Streets of Rage, Yakuza, God of War
FPS like: Insurgency, COD MW, Medal of Honor(2010) & Warfighter, Battlefield 3 & Hardline (nowadays weapon/ rifle not old or futuristic one), F.E.A.R
Openworld like: GTA, Mafia, Saints Row 3 (with crime theme especially)
TPS like: Kane & Lynch, Stranglehold(thanks @wera ), Max Payne
Strategy game with crime theme like: Omerta
Zombie game like: World War Z, Left 4 Dead, Resident Evil

Give a chance to Last of Us and Days Gone for more zombie games. Days Gone is also kinda open world, Last of us more of a story first, action second type of game

You're rock, man! I always thought Days Gone kinda like Dying Light/ Dead Island, but after you mentioned it, I checked YT and it looks like the character had firearms in the beginning.... yeah gonna try it.
For Last of Us, yeah I know it's a very good game, but when it first launched on PC it had several stability issues, gonna check it later....

So it's official now, I appointed you as my advisor in game recommendation, hehe...

I do try to use my knowledge for good. If I never listened to others, I would never play Bloodborne or Psychonauts, which are some of my fav games
