Basically i m afraid will see football go he way of the NBA where defending is an after thought at best cause we ll do everything for entertainments sake

What do you mean you're afraid?

This is football now thanks for the PL hype.

The average kid probably spends x5 more time watching highlights than actual football games.
The average person is probably at x2.

There is more money but less actual hype around football, you can feel this. Less people are interested in foreign leagues now. They focus on a domestic league, maybe a bit on a regional one - mostly if there's domestic interest that is - and the PL is the go-to league now from the top ones because it's so casual and it appeals to the casual following of the sport that UEFA and the English FA have nurtured. And the same people will follow whatever sounds more popular in CL if there's more than one game. How many people will watch Atletico vs Dortmund tonight you think?

I know you didn't really ask me or whatever, but I love watching Brazilian football and Copa Libertadores, especially once it's summer and the European leagues are on break, and I've written at length (elsewhere) that it would strongly benefit South American football if we could ever get back to a world where the very best talents on the continent aren't looking to flee to Europe the day they turn 18. Unfortunately, the increasing economic inequalities of the sport today mean that this problem is only going to get worse from here.

Il mio amico, I've had people give me many labels during my life. Mostly bad, some nice just because they took pity on me, but among all of them, "mentally sane" has literally never been one of them.

I cant fucking get my stress level back to normal knowing we lost to this Atletico. It would have been so simple for us to get to the semifinals (maybe finals too), but no classic Inter has to goof it. We are so unlucky, we really are lacking that football luck which is crucial sometimes. Fuck it, i will continue to be mad until the season is over.

It’s fine, if we went through, we probably wouldn’t meet Dortmund 😃

The way you are lingering on the past it's obvious you can't. Let it go. What's the point of annoying yourself for something you can't change?

I don't want to live in a world where this Barcelona team - with all the idiotic overhyped bullshit that's been surrounding them all season, with talks of "crisis" and Xavi being forced out because of toxicity of the Catalan press and every other fucking thing - ends up in the Final, and yet it looks like that's exactly what's gonna happen.

Not their fault really. They're becoming accustomed to the way things roll.

The problem is that their leagues are suffering for this. I used to stay up to watch Libertadores, games in Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, even Mexico... I don't feel the urge now, maybe I'll catch a Superclasico or some Brazilian derby, but there's no appeal. It feels like a feeder league.

The problem is that the Dutch league also has the same feeling, the Portuguese, the Greek, the French and German even if you remove a team from the equation. Heck, the Champions League feels this way until April every season.

Football is dying. One could say changing. But it's dying. Whatever will evolve from this won't be football.
