So Juve are through, Napoli are basically confirmed to go through, we just need to equal Dortmunds result. When was the last time Italy had 3 teams in the R16. Feels like one of Napoli or Roma fuck it up

Atalanta, although at 4th place right now, also have a good chance of advancing. They have to beat Shakhtar away with ManCity not losing to dinamo zagreb.

Thoughts on the Valencia penalty given against Jorginho? Fucking joke IMO.

Don’t have the exact scenario in front of my inner eye right now but it definitely looked to me as if it was actually the Valencia player who committed the foul. When I watched it I thought it shouldn’t have been a penalty.

Imagine if Atalanta go through and we don't because we couldn't beat Slavia Prague, or hold a 2 goal lead at half time against Dortmund.

Yeah hard to imagine Atalanta play against top teams like Real, Barca, PSG in Meazza but we play against the like Ludogorets, Braga or Krasnodar in Meazza lol

2/3 in their first attempts.
0/2 in their next.
Probably going through now so let's say 3/6. Last year it was on goal difference and some details (ie last minute Di Maria goal) but the other time they were destroyed.
The first time they failed they had 12 points and were on equal terms with Dortmund and Arsenal. It was very unlucky to see them out.

Both times they lost to the eventual champions.

Chelsea after beating them 3-1 at first and playing very well away, lost 4-1 in overtime.
Then Real Madrid, I think with two losses. But they weren't as bad, just not clinical enough again.
They've had some very good games in Europe actually but just cannot take that leap forward. That's why they brought Ancelotti.

When did commentators change the way they pronounce "Griezmann"? I swear in previous years they always called him "Greezman" but now they say "̶B̶o̶o̶-̶u̶r̶n̶s̶"̶ "Gree-ezmann"

Who Barca plays in the midfield is the most important. Hopefully it's Rakitić and Sergi Roberto

Hope so but I think Perez will remain with the B team for the near future, although Dembouz being out may change that

Do Barca fans dislike Inter? just curious to know :)
I personally have more sympathy towards Real Madrid due to good relationships/deals in the past, but I don't dislike Barca either.

Barça fans i know as friends, most of them don't care anything about Italian league, then there are some others who hate Mourinho, Inter, Chelsea etc... as they still have some rest of blood in they're asses due to the 2010 humiliation.

Barcelona fans have no collective feelings towards Inter. Since there are fans from everywhere now, it's just personal or regional biases that take place. So a Barcelona fan from the USA will have more feelings towards PL teams than Inter because his surroundings are focused on those teams. But speaking of Barcelona proper fans, there are some 'rules' let's say.

Barcelona dislike Real Madrid, Espanyol and Athletic Bilbao. That does not change, ever.

From foreign teams their main rival was actually Milan since both were competing for the Champions League in its early years and Milan gave them a beating despite Barcelona being considered the heavy favorites (4-0 final in Athens). And this carried on in the mid 2000s as well.
Which is why most "old school" (ffs, I'm talking about the 90s here haha) Barcelona fans liked Inter and which is also why I felt a stronger connection with them than with Real Madrid when I "picked" my Spanish team (I stopped 'supporting' Barcelona in Spain in 2009 but until then I tried not to miss a game). But the newer generation is probably not aware of a heated situation with Milan but have more animosity towards us than before as we "stole" Ronaldo and we've beaten them from the Bernabeu final and all that. But generally, they don't really care about us just as we don't really care about them. Mutual respect as a great European club, that's about it.

Chelsea fans hate Barcelona but I doubt Barcelona fans even care that Chelsea exists. The same applies with Celtic iirc.

From my memory I remember Barcelonistas disliking Man Utd the most from England and Bayern from Germany. Juventus is a weird one as they were their main 'hate' team from Italy but when Berlusconi's Milan came along the new generation started liking Juventus more and then the Old Bitch had a rivalry going with Real Madrid which just helped to that. So some Barcelona fans between the ages of 30-40 have a strong liking for Juventus which means by default they dislike us. With 2010, that just became even more collective for some but I wouldn't say they think about us all the time.

I'd compare it to us vs Liverpool maybe.

My defining image of Napoli in the UCL was Mazzarri's team with Cavani and Lavezzi that blew like a three goal lead to Chelsea.
