You need luck to win CL as 1 mistake will knock the team out. For ex: Barca were very lucky in 2009 when Drogba couldn't even finish his dinner, nevermind goal scoring chances (He missed at least 4 easy goal scoring chances), in 2011 Bendtner had good chance in the last min of the game which would have knoced Barca out.

This time Chelsea had luck and Messi missed penalty and they missed few easy goal scoring chances. You need luck to win the CL, not saying you only need luck but strongest teams won't always win the CL.

Edit: Tbh Chelsea deserved at least 1 CL in the last decade, they were very good for best part of a decade but couldn't win it for many reasons, when they were on decline they won it.
