This match will be played tomorrow (sunday 30th).

This is last test for Azzurri before Euro tournament begins. Whatever lineup Trap (i almost said Zac) uses will most probably be the lineup he uses at Euro. Let´s hope he will not use DP (if still out of form) and Camoranesi. Hopefully none get injured either.

This is my preferred lineup:

Code:
Buffon

Oddo - Nesta - Cannavaro - Zambrotta

Gattuso - Pirlo

Fiore Totti Cassano

Vieri

I have no problem if Trap picks Panucci over Oddo and either Perrotta or Cristiano over Gattuso.

RAI UNO will broadcast this as usual. They havent yet said anything if it´s encrypted or not, probably not.

I like your formation Tommi. Cassano and Totti just has gotta start. They may not end the season well but it was only a few games. In most part of the season, they were two of the best players of the season.

They didn´t start and they wont at Euro either.

I´m not too upset about it tho. Cassano has no experience in bigger tournaments and DP is more than a great player when in form.

1st half is over and Italia are leading 2-0. First was an own goal, but Vieri had something to do about it. Totti tried to cross ball to Vieri, but Tunisia´s defender headed it for own goal. Vieri was all over Tunisia´s defender and he (defender) fell under pressure.

2-0 goal was simply awesome. Italia had corner kick, Vieri took about 5 players with him in front post and Cannavaro was left completely unmarked. He headed it home. Good goal.

Italia deserved penalty, but referee waved play on. It was clear penalty. Vieri passed the ball to DP who had just goalkeeper to beat. Some defender tackled him in their penalty area and it should´ve been a penalty!

Best player by far has been Cannavaro.

Ok, game is on...

How's the game overall? Is it crappy or does it flow well? And has someone been shining or in contrast shitty? Tell us your opinions after the match.

So the starting line-up was like this:

Code:
Buffon

Panucci - Nesta - Cannavaro - Zambrotta

Zanetti - Perrotta

Camoranesi - Totti - Del Piero

Vieri

And in the 2nd half it was like this:

Code:
Buffon

Oddo - Ferrari - Materazzi - Zambrotta

Gattuso - Pirlo

Camoranesi - Cassano - Del Piero

Vieri

Corradi came in for Vieri at 62min and Favalli for Del Piero at 72min. So I assume that Favalli took Zambrotta's place as a left defender and Zambrotta got a more attacking role in left flank.

Yep, you got it right CafeCordoba. Your lineups were correct.

Tunisia had either crappy match or we were that good and they looked so crappy ´cause of that.

2nd half started and Trap changed few players: Oddo, Materazzi, Ferrari, Pirlo, Gattuso and Cassano came in and Panucci, Nesta, Cannavaro, Zanetti, Perrotta and Totti came out.

Italia played very offensive game from the start of 2nd half. Cassano, DP and Vieri were all over Tunisia´s goalkeeper. Only bad luck prevented any one of them to score. DP-Cassano-Vieri were even better than DP-Totti-Vieri trio.

Gattuso-Pirlo were better than Perrotta-Zanetti duo as well. Gattuso-Pirlo duo is much better offensively and only a little weaker defensively. Oddo were much better than Panucci. Oddo reminds me of Coco a bit. Both do those awesome runs back and forth, what´s better in Oddo is that he can actually cross. I would love to see Oddo rather than Panucci at Euro, but i doubt it will happen.

Anywayz, Italia started to play crappy after Trap took Vieri out (in 67 minute) and gave Corradi some playing time. Corradi, how can he be vice-Vieri! Italia are in big big trouble if Vieri injures himself.

In 72th minute Trap took DP out and Favalli came in. Zambrotta took DP´s place and he did very well in there.

Only about 5 minutes left and Italia got a free-kick from about 25 metres. Pirlo looked, Pirlo shot and Pirlo scored. Great goal, GREAT! Pirlo should definitely be in starting 11. Gattuso played very well too. He´s a real fighter, but he can also pass the ball.

We were playing overtime and the ball bounced back and forth in Tunisia´s penalty box. Zambrotta got it and he shot powerful kick right below goal post. Good goal as well.

Overall this match was very good from Italia. Defence worked like it should, midfield were awesome (at least in 2nd half) and strikers (offensive players) created scoring opportunities after scoring opportunities.

I almost forgot to mention Camoranesi. He had awesome match. He was all over the field, he ran and he ran. If he continues this way, he should be there instead of Fiore. Fiore might be little better offensively, but Camoranesi is better overall. At least today he was.

Tunisia (African champions) didn´t have a chance to beat Azzurri today. They only had couple of half chances where they could have scored. Our team were rock solid.

That´s about it. Oh, and i saw Gigi Riva (scored 156 goals in 286 matches for Calgiari over the 13 seasons) and he stood right beside Trap. Am i missing something or has Italia signed him to be Trap´s advisor or something? I like it if they done that! I just havent read/heard about it.

FORZA AZZURRI!!!! :star: :star: :star:

Camorenesi played well while DelPiero didnt have the last touch...lets hope they click more.
Our players i thought all did a good job...But about the DM position i would have thought it was better to start with CZ/Gattusso with Pirlo instrad of Perrotta what do u guys think??

I can't believe that Trap insist on the duo of C.Zanetti - Perrotta. What does he sees in them??? Gattuso - Pirlo outclassed both of them in club level last season. Pirlo has been one of the best deep playmaker in Europe as well, why bench him will remain as an enigma. Maybe Trap wants Totti to be the playmaker??? But IMO, both can co-exist. Just ask Totti to play Kaka's role!!!

So Camoranesi give a great performance which possibly means that Fiore won't be in starting eleven in EURO2004 cause he has a some muscular strain or what was it? (he wasn't even in the squad yesterday, which is bad)

You should see “The Hammer” in Juve’s demolition at the San Siro, a gem of a performance! Gattuso for me is too violent, the guy has a few screws lose and you would expect him to lose heart in dire situations (Obviously :D ) Anyhow C. Zanetti – Pirlo look a lot better to me, specially since both have such a different mentality

C. Zanetti > Pirlo > Perrotta > Gattuso

Don’t get me wrong, no one can run like Gattuso, the guy is pure class in a strange way! :star:

Gatusso really reminds me of a headless chicken that can be pre-programmed to identify tragets.
