04/01/2004. The agent of Parma keeper Sebastien Frey has denied that Inter are looking to buy back the French shot-stopper.

Christian Payan sent SoccerAge.com a statement which read: "We'd like to inform you that several English sides are interested in Frey at the moment. But we deny any interest from Inter or any other Italian club. We would inform AC Parma of any official contact immediately."

What type of defender is Vidic? Materazzi type? Is he fast? Tall? Quick? Strong? A good header-er? Anyone know?

I've heard good things about him and if he is a good player then I would be more than happy for him 2 come to Inter...

I don't see any reason to get so excited about him. Even if we do sign him, so what?! He has no experience playing at the highest level. Sure he's a great serbian league(or as VDM would call it: "Mickey Mouse league" ) defender but that doesn't guarantee he'll do well in serie a. Many fans also thought Brechet would be a big success, and now we can all see they were wrong. However, I hope i'm wrong about him.

great comment by Sonic#Recoba... Brechet was looked upon as a good defender in the French League... but he turned to be quite a flop here... Vidic could turn out the same... unless he's really a terrific defender who can perform at the very highest level, i don't think we should waste anymore cash... get a playmaker and a REAL defender...

For those of you who wanted some info on Vidic:

Nemanja Vidic is a 22 year old CD who plays for the serbian national team. He's 188cm's tall and wighs 82 kg.

He's a very strong defender who's calm with the ball and is good in the air.
His flaws are his one-on-one, he's a bit easy to get past, and his determination isn't always on top. In a 3-4-3, his best position would be the sweeper role.

Imo he's not a player that we need. Imo if we were to get a CD, I would only settle for a worldclass one. Considering the fact that we have Matrix and Adani as our sweepers, I can't see where Vidic would fit in.

If we were to sign a defender, I'd only settle for a worldclass one, like I've said before.

uh ! so you did mean that Vidic is definitely a good defender. If he's better than Mexes, then why not get him ?? After all, Mexes is been rumoured to so many big clubs. We need 1/2 defender/s for next season. Getting Vidic (if he's really good) would be great. Even though we aren't good in developing the new players, I hope that he would perform like Emre (the only player I remember in Inter who despite joining Inter in kinda youth age - (20's) ??, did well....).

And getting defenders like Vidic / Mexes, would also mean that Matrix would be used next season as well. Vidic, if he joins us won't be put in enormous pressure to deliver right away. I guess !!

In most prestigious serbian newspapers on Thursday showed up an article where it said that Fachetti and Branca came to Belegrade for Vidic and that they had a meeting with Red Star president Dzajic.
According to those newspapers Inter wanted to sign pre-contract with Red Star for Vidic but nothing came out from that and the 2 clubs just said that they will meet again. The cost of Vidic is around 5 million euros.

Vidic is like Mixi said a tall "Materazzi" type. He also scores a lot... That´s all I now...´I think I saw him once...

I prefer better players. But I´d rather have Vidic than Gamarra for instance.
