Since opening match threads became an obsession I thought of a scoring system to be given to match thread openers to help us decide in the future who'd be worthy of opening specific match threads depending on the highest scores a member has achieved during the season. This event is sponsored by Nyall 2010-2019. All rights reserved.

Simple, each match result grants the match thread opener points, there is the Blue points which represents positive points that reflects positive results, and then there is of course the Red points which represents the opposite. Both Blue points and the Red points will be displayed next to the members names, ex: Nyall 850 / 35. We then get an Overall number at the end of the season.

The two rules of participants (Participants must have 1000 posts minimum and/Or 1000 thanks minimum) :

1- Maximum match thread opened per month: 3
2 - (The Coaster Freak ban) Cannot open two consecutive match threads (for same competition).

Breaking the rule will cost you -20pt, gets doubled every time you break a rule again.



The Scores:

First the wins (P- Positive points) :

1- Win at Home vs league team position 7th to 20th (at the time the game is played)= 10 pt .
Win Away same conditions = 12 pt.
2- Win at home vs Top 6 league position (at the time the game is played) = 15 pt.
Win away same conditions = 20 pt.
3- Win at home a Derby (Bilan or juBe) =45 pt. (Rule 2 not applied).
Win away same conditions = 55pt.
4- Win at home in CL group stage = 40 pt. (+10 extra if the opponent is European giant)
Win Away same conditions = 50 pt. (+ 15 extra if the opponent is European giant)
5 - Win at home in CL knockout stages = 60 pt. (+ 15 extra if the opponent is Italian rival)
Win away same conditions = 70 pt. (+ 20 extra if the opponent is Italian rival)


The loses (N- Negative points) :

1- Lose at home vs league team position 7th to 20th = - 20
Lose away same conditions = -15
2- Lose at home vs top 6 league position = - 15
Lose away same conditions = - 12
3- Lose at home in a Derby = - 35
Lose away in a derby = - 20
4- Lose at home in CL group stage = - 25
Lose away same conditions = - 20
5- Lose at home in CL knockout stages = - 35
Lose away same conditions = - 30


The Draws: (PD- Postive Draw pts) or (ND- Negative Draw pts

Devious, you might wanna adjust the point distribution for the Positive points. As of now, it's not a fair distribution. For example, a win vs Young Boys gives you 40 pts, whereas a home derby win vs Rube only gives 35? People will be rushing to open shitty CL games and avoiding to open derby games threads.

That was so close, it's 'Thread Opener Devious Scoring System', but it is close enough you got three words right!

Good point, I only took a consideration for how important and rare CL games are comparing to league games, but you do have a point. I'll modify it now. also might adjust other scores before start counting.

Many of the game thread openers from the past era do not post anymore so it's pointless to count their scores as it's so unlikely they'd return and start opening threads once again.

I'll do this year and the last one, for now at least.
