Duolingo and Memrise have so far been great for me in my attempt to learn a bit of Spanish and French but both can also be used for Italian and other languages.

well, i can help you with swear words:

cazzo = dick (but only as a substantive and as an exclamation. if you want to say: "you're a dick", then it is "sei un coglione", which literally means "you are a testicle");

figa/fica or gnocca = snatch or also attractive woman, but in a vulgar way;

vaffanculo = go fuck yourself (literally "go fuck an ass");

figlio di puttana = son of a bitch, but it is stronger in italian, because "puttana" is best translated as "whore";

stronzo or coglione ("coglione" is much stronger) = asshole, dick;

cornuto = cuckhold: this is the regular adjective used for the referees, although maybe more in the past.

pezzo di merda = piece of shit.

well, i have to be more precise here: stronzo is more along the lines of "jerk", but it is so widely used and in so many occasions that it can translate to a lot of things.

I had a 2 months streak learning German from Duolingo, and I did it for a couple more months, then I went to Germany and took a course, and to be honest it was as if I only wasted time with it, I think there are probably better ways to do it at home, specially how some of the grammer was wrong on duolingo but it could help with the vocabulary.

The app is good and all but without real practice (interacting with people) you won't achieve any meaningful results.
