The Italian media is a disgrace and can go..
.. fuck themselves!
January 20th 2008. Inter hosted Parma at the Meazza, trailing with minutes to go when a Parma defender handles an Ibrahimovic shot destined for the back of the net. Inter are awarded the controversial penalty and would go on to win the game. What ensued was the biggest shitstorm I'd ever seen against a team by the Italian media I had ever seen. Cuoto, the defender in question would later go on to admit that the ball did in fact touch his hand that however did nothing to hinder the sensationalist headlines that would come from the Italian papers the next day..
The GDS: Messy Inter - Parma led 2-1 at San Siro before a highly controversial penalty and an Ibra brace
FI: Ibra and Ref rescue Inter | Inter mug Parma
It's almost impossible to retrieve the CDS and TS comments on the game, but their sentiments were equal to that of La Gazaetta's.
This prompted Mancini to go on to call the media out on their prejudice and the club to eventually take on a silence against the media in protest.
The game in question.
The penalty.
Fast forward two weeks. this time Inter host Empoli. Another controversial penalty is awarded for Inter which is converted. Inter would also go on to get sent to 10 men, our third in 4 matches. Empoli would also win a penalty late in the match. But Inter would win this match 1-0 and the media storm continued.
Football Italia - Inter thank Cesar, ref and Siena

I can't find any replays of the penalty, however..
A week later, Inter travelled to Sicily to play Catania. Inter would win the game 2-0, but Inter's first goal which was scored by Cambiasso was offside. The second goal was not.
GDS - So much for Cambiasso - The (offside) Argentine breaks the stalemate in Catania and Suazo doubles the win amidst protests at referee Farina
CDS - A laughable Scudetto - Applause and ironic songs in Catania after Cambiasso's offside goal
TS - Cambiasso (offside) and then Suazo as Catania are beaten
FI - Controversy in Catania: Inter grabbed a hard-fought 2-0 win away to Catania and there was more controversy as Esteban Cambiasso's opener was clearly offside.
The game in question
The offside goal
These sentiments were maintained by the media few weeks afterwards until they got a saucier story in Mancini quitting and Mourinho joining. But why am I saying this?
It's simple, Milan qualified for the Champions League today, after riding a season plagued with penalty decisions in their favor (some of which have been controversial) none more so than the one today.. and this was all the Italian media could say..
GDS - Milan, Champions scream: A Balotelli penalty and a Mexes goal at the end save the Rossoneri
CDS - Scandal! Rossoneri third thanks to the referee. Milan in the Champions League thanks to an inexistent penalty.
TS - Milan: Champions League yes, Allegri maybe
FI - Mexes gives Milan last-gasp win!

It's a fucking disgrace at how they have treated Inter through the years but were willing to put their foot in their mouths for Juventus and for Milan.. and for that they can all go fuck themselves, they are all sorry excuses for journalists!
