Summer Market

So far in 2004 Inter has had severe problems in defence. First of all the quantity of players has been too small. This has of course not been a good thing for the club. Due to injuries and suspension the Nerazzurri have often found themselves short of defenders. Therefore I think they should buy at least one new defender in the summer. There are many options of course:

Ferrari (Parma) - unfortunately unlikely. But a great player.
Mexes (Auxerre) - probable signing. If Auxerre decide to sell it is a race for his signature.
Metzelder (Dortmund) - unlikely signing. Inter would have to offer a huge sum for him.
Stam (Lazio) - probable signing. If he arrives it would only be for a few seasons.

In midfield the club is pretty good, although there is the need of getting rid of some players. Simply because there are too many central midfielders... In my opinion Lamouchi and Okan should be sold in the Summer Transfer Market. Then it could also be an idea to go out and buy an LM like César for example.

In attack the Nerazzurri are perfect in my opinion. A great mix of different kind of strikers and the right amount of players.

Toldo has made far too many mistakes this season. As a result of this Inter should take a look around to find a new goalkeeper. A club like Inter can´t afford to have a keeper who constantly give away easy goals. Who should replace Toldone? Only the Inter Administration know this...

As far as talents are concerned it is in my opinion a good idea to buy them and then ship them off to Parma for example.

By doing this the defence has been repaired and we have a keeper that gives security, the midfield has the right quantity and quality. The attack remain unchanged. With a squad designed specially for Zaccheroni Inter could enter a new era of glory!

Good article Gismo. However, I still feel the need for a top quality terequista. I dont think Recoba or Deki are of the necessary quality.

The only playmaker kind of player, I´d accept is Deco. I don´t consider Totti a realistic player, so.

Deco is a great player and the only realistic, established and not too costly terequista, so yea, he would be a great buy. :s

Borussia are desperate to sell players because they have to generate close to 150M. Players that interest us include Rosicky, Dede and Metzelder. The latter is their captain and is excactly what we need. A tall and talented defender with captain-like quality. Unfortuantely he suffered a career-threatening ankle injury. He wouldn't cost us that much but he will come with a risk as he is damaged goods. We can do like ManU did with Nistelrooy and try our luck. Dede can play as a LWB and Rosicky is a playmaker that is wanted by many clubs.

if that happens, i think v.meyde's inter career wud be over.....
and i don't want it to happen....

i am not saying that v.meyde's great or so, but i don't think we will need a play-maker; after all we already have -

About Deco, I haven't seen him lately but is he still producing the goods with Porto??? He's a realistic target. But, although he's not a playmaker, I think the team bought Deki and expect him to be one. Seriously.

well, let's work something differently this time..

I think we need one or two fresh defenders, but our defenders are good quality players with huge bad lucks this season... but they are aging, cordoba is the youngest among starters..

we can go to find the next toldo, but i doubt it that will be wise...
we don't keep stars to grow, we harvest them... especially in the goalkeeper department... Toldo will play better... Just have faith in him..

In playmaker position, we used to discuss that stan is one of the best we can have... and now suddenly we still need more, ....

those young and good players will probably stay longer than we think..
I don't think the new inter management will waste their money to keep players on the bench for one year only...
