Inter President Steven Zhang has claimed that his “words were not strong enough” after the controversial attack on the Lega President Paolo Dal Pino.
The Nerazzurri chief called the Serie A chief a “clown” and accused him of putting the people’s health in danger after learning about the rescheduled fixture list.

The Federal Prosecutor's Office opened an investigation but the Inter chief stands by his words. He revealed that he feels they were “soft” in an interview with the Financial Times.

“Many people think that my words were strong. I think they were soft and not strong enough,” he told Financial Times. “Public health must be put first.

“Like Inter, as a football club with millions of fans around the world, we have the responsibility and duty to lead by example, applying all precautionary measures correctly.”

The Inter patron continues by saying that he supports that matches should be carried out behind closed doors.

“Playing behind closed doors is the right thing to do, it’s the correct choice so that people don’t take any risks.

“Playing a match without fans is difficult from many points of view and nobody likes it, but it’s necessary to go ahead with the calendar and all the activities, privileging public health above all else. It’s currently the only viable option."

Inter donate 100,000 to Coronavirus research

Inter and their President Steven Zhang have announced they are donating €100,000 to the Department of Biomedical Research at the Sacco Hospital in Milan to help battle the Coronavirus outbreak.

The virus has now affected over 3,000 people in Italy, including 107 deaths, a jump of 28 compared to the casualty rate only 24 hours ago.

Lombardy is at the centre of the Italian outbreak and Inter have made the €100,000 donation to help research into the disease, as scientists work to understand it better.

“FC Internazionale Milano and Steven Zhang announce the donation of 100,000 euro to the Department of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences "L. Sacco" of Milan, directed by Prof. Massimo Galli,” read a statement.

“The donation, in the intentions of Inter and its President, is functional to support the research activities, flagship of the Department, a structure of excellence that has distinguished itself for having identified the first 3 complete genomes, obtained from Italian isolates of SARS-CoV-2 circulating in Lombardy.

“The work was carried out by the group of Milan State University and Sacco Hospital, coordinated by the professors of the Department of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences of Milan University Gianguglielmo Zehender, Claudia Balotta and Massimo Galli, the same team that completed the isolation of 3 COVID-19 coronavirus strains currently circulating in the Codogno area.

“The ongoing analysis of further genomes will allow to obtain more precise estimates of the virus entry into our country and possible ways of spreading it.

"Inter has an indissoluble bond with the city of Milan and is proud of the dedication with which all the staff of the Sacco Hospital are dealing with the exceptional situation," said President Steven Zhang. "Since the beginning of the Coronavirus emergency we have followed with particular attention and apprehension the evolution of the situation, both as a Club and as a shareholder, stressing in all locations as the only priority was public health and safety. It is for this reason that FC Internazionale Milano feels the duty to support the Sacco Hospital," concluded Club President Steven Zhang.”

+ Zhang: 'Inter will not sell stars'

Inter patron Steven Zhang has ambitions to “attract the best talent from around the world” to maintain their status among the “biggest clubs in the world”.

The Nerazzurri are fighting for the Scudetto in Italy this term and are currently eight points behind Lazio with two games in hand after a controversial period.

Lautaro Martinez, one of the biggest stars at San Siro, has been linked with a move to the biggest clubs in Europe and when you put the arguments about the fixture list aside, the President has opened up on his big ambitions for the Milan side.

“For Inter, as one of the biggest clubs in the world, you have to try your best to win,” Zhang told Financial Times. “We don’t want to sell our talented players and attract the best talent from around the world.”

Zhang claims that Suning has increased the Nerazzurri’s “value as a club” to the sponsors after taking over at the Giuseppe Meazza.

The President has targeted his native China as a platform for new fans and widen the interest around his football club to give potential sponsors a wider global range.

“Since Inter was bought by Suning, the club has gone through a huge transformation,” he added. “Firstly, our performance on the pitch.

“Secondly, our commercial and marketing value. You can see from our digital platforms; the numbers are double or triple to what they were a couple of years ago.

“So, it’s logical that our value as a club is going up too.”

The other Serie A leaders are reportedly annoyed with Inter President Steven Zhang and Roma CEO Guido Fienga has claimed "his position is not clear”.

The Nerazzurri chief hit out at the Lega President Paolo Dal Pino, calling him a “clown” in an open message on social media.

The Lega President has decided to sue Zhang and now the other Serie A directors are expressing their irritation with the Inter boss.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reveals that the Roma CEO Fienga functions as their spokesperson.

“Safety and health first, that’s not only dear to the Inter President, but all of us,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “Rather, his position has not been clearly understood.

“In these chaotic days Inter first asked to play behind closed doors, then in case of open doors they want to recover the match with Sampdoria compared to the one with Juve.

“We were already amazed by the words of Zhang at a time when he asked about compactness and absence of controversy.

“We are further surprised that he reiterated yesterday the concept he already expressed. There are people in Italy and not abroad who seek solutions to solve a problem whose developments are unknown.

“Everyone’s attempt is to protect health but also to continue the competitions.”

How is a 29 year old a kid? Just because he looks 16 doesn't mean he's a kid.

He's extremely young for a CEO or president of anything.

I'm fucking 30+ and I can tell you I still feel like a kid sometimes.

no, it isn't and it wasn't. that's the point. there was a continued effort to find a way to play juventus-Inter with supporters, at all costs, in spite of all the safety measures. it was more than obvious that the virus is spreading, the death toll has now surpassed the 100 mark in italy.

but despite this, without the decree of the government, juventus-Inter would have been played with the spectators in the stands.

as for Inter-samdporia: the rules say it should be played before juventus-Inter, so we don't have to justify about it, or give an explanation.

Another horrendous part of this catastrophe has been the herds of lobotomized retards, especially juve fans (naturally), reading some D-grade twitter bullshit and spreading it verbatim with a contagious infection rate to put the coronavirus itself to shame. There is a shocking amount of spastics out there who believe (and repeat) that this fiasco is all because Inter just wanted to gain an advantage by playing the match without juve's fans.

Nevermind the lunacy of cancelling a game due to a health hazard and then playing it 1 day later  As Marotta put it, that would imply the coronavirus and the risk has disappeared in the space of 24 hours. Apparently far more dangerous than COVID-19, which attacks your lungs, is the infectious coronaventus which destroys your brains and leaves you a bumbling spastic.

The official data yesterday evening were of 197 deaths in Italy as a consequence of a coronavirus infection.

The death rate so far is in Italy around 4% and coronavirus so far has been 4 times deadlier than the common influenza, mostly because there is not a vaccine yet.

Schools closed all over the country till the 15th of march, and the decree for the schools will most likely be extended to the end of the month.

in such an emergency, where a country is on lockdown, Dal pino tried to have 40k on the stands in a football match.

So yes, Zhang was right. And because everyone and everything has to be called with their name, it's only fair to call Dal pino a clown.

'it's not slander if it's true'... no idea if that's some kind of a legal standard or applies to Italy, but it fits here

Drama at Inter as list of errors meant for Zhang ends up at the HQ

A report of errors made by the management at Inter was intended for President Steven Zhang, but ended up at the headquarters by a mistake, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.

The newspaper explains that the evaluation of last summers mistaken strategies made by the management was not intended to end up at their desks, but the directors were included by a mistake.

The President received a letter containing a list of what has been considered mistakes committed last summer by the management, ‘not attributable’ to coach Antonio Conte.

The list reportedly included signings to be pursued in the upcoming transfer market.

However, patron Zhang has now some unwanted drama to deal with, as he wasn’t the only one who received the email that ended up at the desks of the ones responsible at the Nerazzurri.

this didnt really make sense to me, tbh

is it saying the Board of Directors wrote up a review of the season, and some of the non-BoD directors got blamed for some things, and they've now seen the list?

I dont see that as a bad thing, retrospectives should be fully transparent with the intention of learning how to perform better.

The most challenging task for him as a young Presidente is yet to come. He was explicitly called out by Conte out of the black and blue. Since he's locked down in China, the upcoming Skype/Zoom session with Conte will be decisive for our future path. For once, please shut down the soap opera and take the "Pazza" out of Inter if you actually mean it.

If I were him I’d let Marotta and his nutjob friend sort things out or sue them both for corruption.

The season is over, if anything this is the best time for the manager to go mental and hate the club. I’d let Marotta handle this.

I know we are still in the EL but...meh...
