We shouldn't hold our breath. I have no confidence that he will be ready. He will in all likelihood injury himself in the warm-up, depending on whether he even makes it that far.

Even if he’s “ready” it’s too late. By the time we get to EL we just need to play who’s in form because it’s one knockout match at a time. This guy has barely played all year, he needs a preseason worth of games to get back to being match sharp.

im very conflicted on what we do with him this summer. Feels like the sensible thing is another loan with obligation if, say, he starts 15 Serie A matches, potentially with a reduced fee. He's such a good player, but how can we risk on someone who has played less than a third of our season?

Exactly. I suggested this earlier when there were rumors of how this deal will go through. If it's permanent transfer, at least then a reduced fee. If they agree on another loan, that kind of conditions browha mentioned needs to be added for sure.

I'm pretty positive we can find a mutual agreement with them. Marotta has good relations with Sassuolo and they don't want to ruin that by trying to sell him elsewhere.

Despite that he was immense during a period of this season, I think that he should go back. We cannot let us rely on a player who is injured 2/3 of the time.

Though have to admit that his contribution in first phase of the season was immense as he was one of the reasons that we played beautiful football and also managed to get positive results, but thats just that. We should have higher objectives next season therefore we must have consistent players throughout the season.
