Hold a high line defensively but don't have a corresponding high press tied to it...I mean, it's an idea. Not a good idea but definitely an idea.

Real hasn't finished building their squad the way they want, but I feel like the best thing I can say about them is that I don't think there's any deadweight on the roster at all. They've got pace, they've got fluidity, and they've got depth in net, defense, and midfield (they would still prefer a better #1 striker than Joselu). Obviously Jude has been even better than the highest expectations suggested he would be, but Brahim Diaz has also reached a level that I sure as fuck never thought he would reach...I was disappointed they plucked him off Milan, that's how little I thought of him.
Fantastic team. I wouldn't be shocked at all if they win 2-3 more trophies this season. I definitely underestimated them at the outset when I thought their summer failed to replace Benzema and that Barcelona had the better transfer window after already having the better 2022-'23 season. I'm glad to have been wrong (at least, to this point).

10 years of FIFStupid errors by Jules but you play a high line with a back 3 & you invite danger - you have to be vigilant and he was not. Probably would’ve been smarter to have switched Jules to RB and Araujo central but the problems are deeper as the offense cannot generate many advantages

10 years of FIFI'm more worried about our opponents in the league rather than in CL. Absolutely no underestimation to Atletico but their tactical discpline is not even close to what they have been before a few years, that includes their vulnerability in defence and also in midfield. Besides of that, Real Madrid hasn't beeen any convincing to me recently. They can win win by a huge margin against Barca but their lack of consistency is obvious.
Not saying that Inter has been much better lately, but at least we've got that Italian tactical discpline which gives us an edge over the rest of teams.
I was wrong regarding our bench options though. If we only had proper backup options in attack, we'd be a scary team. It's not like our bench in midfield is THAT good, but at least they have shown to be somewhat competitive compared to Arnautovic and Alexis.

10 years of FIFYou are really basing this whole CL tie on one fucking Copa del Rey game?! They are 5th in the league and their results and performance are inconsistent. Atleti could be a tough opponent but we have the upper hand against them.

I would also take some exception to calling that game a "demolition". It ended 2-2 in regulation time. Atleti also had eight days from their last game to last night while Madrid were coming back from Saudi Arabia with half the rest time to play.
