I wonder of Toldo will be given another Inter appearance b4 he is shipped off ... there is no news of any extensions.
If not I will be able to say "I was there" in Toldo's last Inter game against Rangers!

well, i think we should start chino+adri...since we are going to play them rest of the season, might as well get them play together more..so that they will play even better in the future...

it's not like chino and adri cant win the game for us...
Huh, wtf? For the rest of the season. After Martins returns there are like 2 months or even 3 (when Nigeria falls out earl) to go in season. ;)

Anyway, we really have to continue our great form against Siena. We've faced them only 4 times with 3 wins and 1 draw.
Not so great...

Last year, this match turned to be a turning point for our l'Imperatore. He missed a penalty and, after a good early season form, struggled thereafter. We also didn't manage to continue our great 5-0 win at Messina as we drew 2-2 here, salvaging a point after Vieri grabbed a last-minute equaliser with a header from a Karagounis corner.

In 03/04, we also struggled as we were completely outplayed and won undeservedly through a Materazzi header from a Van Der Meyde free-kick.

Although yes, Jake, in San Siro, we eat Siena for breakfast.

Let's chill out about this whole thing about Siena being Adriano's jinx team. I certainly don't believe that a team as petite as Siena could cause him to have many sleepless nights about his coincidental poor form from that game on. I am sure that he will go into this game in great form after a nice long winter break. I thik we will put Siena out of the game by the end of the 45....or at least I hope.

That period of struggle for Adriano last year was bound to happen and it was predictable. It just happen to be against Siena when he hit the post from a penalty and his confidence dented. He was not playing extraordinary in the two games before that one which did not surprise of what was to come but what did surprise me was that it was a lengthy period that Adriano was quite off.

Yeah, at that time I remember Adriano was played a lot !! he almost never got rest.. We saw him getting tired... and Sienna's game probably was just the confirmation button....

This year looks like the vice versa , and I hope there's nothing freaky...
it's never easy to play in january, it's icy and it's cold... We lost crespo at this time of year.. and losing too much...

Oh God, don't remind me of that, Yopi. :stress: Yes, we did lost Crespo when in our first match of 2003. That day (12 Jan 03), the 2-0 victory against Modena in San Siro came at a huge cost as Crespo was injured and out for a couple of months. Let's hope the same thing won't happen. :hopeful:

A good note though:

Inter - Modena 2-0 (12 Jan 03)
Inter - Lecce 3-1 (6 Jan 04)
Livorno - Inter 0-2 (6 Jan 05)

We've won the last 3 1st-match-in-the-new-year. :)

Crespo was CL top scorer at that moment, he was red hot. He as the most in form striker .. at that time, Losing him cost us a lot.. as we were too dependent on him.

And wasn't his injury do mainly to the frozen pitch on the horrible Meazza turf?

And we did a bad move afterwards by buyin Batigol instead of giving Recoba and Kallon more chances.

I know he was good for us then.

But i responded to hans post. If we beat Siena 2-0 and Crespo gets injured with Chelsea (history repeated according to han) Why would we care? :D

Crespo ---> Our top CL striker
Adriano ---> Our top CL striker

Something like that, Helal. ;) It's not Crespo the player himself. I like Crespo but if Inter win on Sunday, I could care less if he breaks a leg or something. ;)

actually, may be mourinho would be smart enough, knowing crespo is jinxed at this time of the year and putting a lone striker on the field which is drogba. i kinda feel sorry for crespo, he hardly gets to play in chelsea..there are just so many strikers to compete and for some reason mourinho prefers drogba

Drogba's a clown. Crespo's recent form shows how superior he is to Drogba, anyone but Chelsea fans see that.
To mention Drogba in the same sentence as Crespo's class, is a crime against futebol.

catanha out.

Mancio only has his press conference a day before the game and thats why he names his squad. He will only have it tomorrow since we only play on sunday.

My only interest is to beat Siena, if Crespo get's injured that is Chelsea's problem.
About the game I think Adriano will play with Recoba in this one. Plus I'm hoping we keep the good form we had in December and get closer to juventus.
