I do not want shit on Handanovic. I am grateful for him and everything he has done for us, especially in our darkest moments.
But the fact of the matter is that if you are sitting in your loungeroom as a supporter, watching a game and you are fearful each time the ball goes into the box, then there is something wrong. And that is without even mentioning the ping-pong ball dangerously bouncing around in the box.
Obviously, there are other relevant considerations, for example, the fact that he is our Captain, his years of service, his experience, the possible lack of a successor, and Inzaghi's reluctance to change him.
However, I feel it is a very simple test that translates into a pretty easy question: Does he give confidence to his team and teammates?
I feel the standard, in terms of what is expected, varies between the public and those that are outside of the club such as supporters and football commentators and those on the inside like Handanovic's teammates and the coach.
There is an obvious problem but I do not think action will be taken between now and the end of the season as it will undermine his coinfidence and perhaps render him useless in the even Radu was to come in and perform poorly.
Ultimately, we are going to have live with Handanovic in the starting eleven until the end of the season.
