If this is really true, Inter can't refuse the deal. No way will Handa be motivated to stay at Inter to play UEFA cup, and maybe compete for 3rd place again. It will simply demoralise him.

30 mil is a lot of money, and although Handa is definitely great, I think we have no choice but to accept it.

We simply need to hold on to the few excellent-to-world-class players we've got, and Samir is probably the best in the world at his position. Even if it means losing out on a profit which we so desperately need, it's essential to the club's future that we hold on to players like him.
If the club needs money, then why not get rid of deadweight like Silvestre, Stankovic, Pereira instead, and balance the checks that way.
I know that's easier said than done, but what message does it send to the rest of the world if we sell our absolute best player? If we continue down this path, we'll turn into Arsenal - where everyone snatches our best players, and we don't win anything for 5-10 years.

And no, throwing Bardi or Di Gennaro out there wont solve a thing. I know they're both great talents, but conceding 3-4 times every match more because of your teammates in front of you, than because of lack ability on your own part, wont do any good for 20 year old. It could, at worst, ruin him.

It's a big no-no from me personally, but it wouldn't surprise me one bit if the club said yes to the offer for the short-term gain. In the end though, it's only going to ruin our credibility on the world stage.

Well Juve bought their full cards and then sold back half of each to Udinese for revenue purposes. It's possible we did something similar, there just hasn't been any confirmation like there was with the Juve deal when they posted the full details on their site.

Because things don't work like that. I realize the players listed are just examples, but...

- We don't even own Silvestre. The best case scenario is that we go back on the alleged 'gentleman's agreement' w/ Palermo and don't buy him. There's no money to be made here.
- Stankovic has 0 market value. In an ideal world we'd come to a mutual cancellation of his contract. More likely, we'd have to buy him out. More likely still, we're stuck paying his full wages.
- Pereira is the only one that could possibly bring in a decent fee.

A 30mil offer (if even true, which I really doubt) would be very hard to turn down. And whatever credibility we have certainly wouldn't be ruined by selling a keeper for 30mil.

That's the number 1 reason I would be against the sale tbh. Get a decent fee, then waste it on a couple squad players.

As you said, just quickly-thought up examples. I wasn't only thinking of market-value or transfer fees, but the savings on wages would do their bit to help the club's finances.
What I was trying to get at was, that instead of having so many mediocre players running around, we should focus on keeping the players we know are quality or will turn out that way (eg. Handanovic, Kovacic, Juan, Guarin).

Concerning crediblity, think of what kind of message that sends to the world; "Yep, come and get our best players, they're are all availiable for you to get, while we'll keep Schelotto in our squad".
What world-class player in their right mind would want to join Inter in the near future, if those are the premises? I know the chances of us getting someone above 'great' are already slim, but if we sell the ones we already have then, well...
