It is, but no body cares about team work or organized collective efforts, 95% of football fans want one hero to idolize, Messi is the best player in Barcelona, in the world, despite the fact that Besquets is better than Messi as DM, Umtiti is better player than Messi in defense, and Messi is really a shitshow comparing to Ter Stegen in GK position, but for the majority of football fans this means jackshit. So when someone asks you who's the best GK in your league or the world you dont start explaining semantics of how a team work decides the outcome of such a dilemma of preventing the opposition of scoring bla blab bellaa.. you just show them with numbers that Handanovic conceded less goals than any other GK in the world and so he's the best in the world atm.

This is how you advertise your team to get more income by getting more fans to support and buy our stuff, watch our games, idolize our stars. If we could learn something from the EPL community football fans this should be it, we keep making fun of them hyping their crappy overrated players all the time but guess what it works and it generats a lot of fuckin money.

In that regard, and despite his imperfections, which everybody has some too, I think right now that Samir Handanovic is #1 GK in the world. He's showing a lot of qualities over the years despite our defensive fuck ups specifically from the fullbacks and the lack of a true DM for more than half a decade, there is no perfect GK but Samir is the closest there is comparing to any other GK in the world right now.

Its always difficult to judge. Would you go for positioning? Connecting with defenders? Or just ridiciolously good saves? Or maybe how they play with their feet? You would probably choose a different player for each of these categories anyway. For me personally, Handa lacks sufficient consistency and could be much better with his feet so not #1 as suggested above. Still the top though.

Anyways, while we all know Handa can be very good, this season its really a team effort. Even his brightest moments like the game against Barca still had absolutely huge contribution from the CBs.

Inter defense leaked more than Juve mean Handa got shot conceded more than Juve goalie but in the end he pulled more cleansheet than Juve goalie combined. People act like our defense is unpenetrable but stats show we still conceded so much shot on target and Handa still need put miracle saves here and there.

Next season will be his last as a starter I believe, I think we owe him some defensive security, at least one good defensive fullback and a quality DM. We can then win the treble.

Handa winning a Scudo with Inter would be a nice gift to his heroics he showed over the years here, but then Palacio deserved better as well... Didn't get it tho.
Just like how Ronaldo(the original one) didn't win CL ever or a Scudetto.
