Fuck Youtube, tbh.
First of all Serie A >>>>>>>>>>>>> Argentinian League.
Add to that the following: italian lifestyle, food, agressive media, mentality, injuries and you have a potential fuck-up.
So dear Moratti and Branca: NOT all argentinian players are good! Don't scout based on Youtube and Football Manager!

South America is shit right now people. The best youth team was Colombia who had 1 fing player!!!!! The next best team was Chile who had 2-3 players red carded a game. Argie club teams do bad in our international tournaments yet everyone here is obsessed to talk about players from there.

Why don't we scout Italian teams? Or German or I don't know Belgium who are developing class players right now. Every time some says Argentina or Brazil people's eyes here start watering. It's annoying. The Argie league sucks. Boca and River suck so people should look at results and not o wow he looks like Zanetti.

Belgium is a bit silent about developing players at the moment. This generation , the most players already play at big clubs. It does wonder me why we paid 13m for Pereira while Vertonghen goes to Tottenham for 9m.. Dembele would've been extremely usefull for us too.

Nowadays in Belgium league there aren't much great players, the latest being De Bruyne.

From the national team we seriously should check on Mertens. He'd be a great addition here

We go after name and national team recognition instead of talent, skill and value. I still find it hard to believe we couldn't have found a better wingback than Jonathan in Italy. Or actually scout like Udinese and the money we paid for alvarez( way too much to develop talent that old) could have gotten us 4-5 players.

To put in another way we Paid double for Alvarez then Porto paid for Falcao or less than James Rodriguez. Both who did way better in Argentina and one was way way younger. We also could have gotten Vidal for Alvarez. Imagine a Vidal Guarin MF

Sarcasm, the excuse for everything stupid we said.

I think anger is a more common scape goat on this forum..

I'm sure YouTube is also an excuse people are using, highlight reals are very common for young players and important for scouting talent in other sports, not sure is as important in futball. It's not like inter is going to have a paid scout at every single game of every single player we are interested in.

Mertens is a brilliant little player. Impressed me each time I've seen him.

Especially this year. Also on National level. He's been pretty good. Think he would do very well here. Fast, Pacy, can score, can pass, 25-26 years, dribble. But maybe seria A is a bit too harsh for him, but I'd rather have him over Dszudszak

The Primera Division in Argentina is probably the weakest it has been in years, look at a club like River Plate now...

Besides Brazil and Argentina though, nations like Colombia and also Chile and Uruguay are as strong as ever. It's just agents and especially clubs have got a lot better at marketing their players, once upon a time an average player was an average player, now that average player will be made out to be the next superstar Kaka/Messi by his club and agent hoping to sucker in a rich European sugar daddy, then when they do they find out the player is woefully unequipped to play at the highest level, the Brazilian clubs are already laughing all the way to the bank. The actual good players the prices are even more ridiculous.

The current approach we have taken for next season is not bad however, we are paying next to nothing for Laxalt and Botta, if they turn out great, good for us, if not we can ship them off for a tidy profit.

I agree though we should be looking at other markets, Eastern European nations are producing some great technical players, I'm happy we got Kovacic it shows the management is willing to look outside South America. Places like Croatia, Slovenia, Slovakia etc. are ideal places to be scouting right now.

Well he'd be free, so a bit less disappointing than Pereira he would be. And he's an offensive player

I really hope he can turn into good player for us since he is exactly what we need. I used to have high hopes for everyone we sign, now i will keep it reserved.

You know pal, if this was some time ago i'd be very happy for us buying players even not knowing how they'd turn out.

But after seeing the deadwood we now have, because of our headless buying, i'm very cautious and i want the players who come to be proven!

In the ytube vids he looks like he has some skill on the ball so he can't be Pereira, also he doesn't look a "slow thinker" like Alvarez but he is playing in Argentina not Italy...

Its up to the coach to develop players. You can't expect players to come in and be immediate good/great players. They need to be used right for their talents to show.
