Sad performance yesterday has to bei said. The thing more sad than his performance is that yesterday's game showed perfectly how to contain him and Lautaro... Just overload the middle of the pitch.

No, ur assuming we both know for a fact that he knows he isn't a leader and he is acting like one which is pretending.

We both don't have any evidence that he doesn't believe he isnt one so if he believes it how is he pretending?

You could say that he is a bad leader or that you dont like how he acts etc but saying he is pretending in my opinion isnt accurate.

I said my opinion on Lukaku multiple times including in previous CL games and the EL final, he is a volume striker and in crunch times he has zero composure and is also unlucky. Plus his awareness in corners, offsides and through passes isnt good. Also his strength of getting the ball and just blowing past defenders is only used sporadically.

The only way he could redeem his season if he wins the scudetto or the Euros with Belguim, otherwise he is nowhere near better than he was the last 5 years because his work didnt translate into team success.

Thats the point big man, doesn matter if ur the best striker in the world in ur opinion, what matters is u getting those goals when it matters. I would rather u have 10-20 goals that result in title success than 35 goals that result in nothing.

And before you say anyone can pretend to be anything and believe it which means he isn't pretending in his eyes and that debunks my argument thats not the case here because we are arguing over statements and claims he makes of himself that are subjective.

Its not the same as someone saying he is a doctor and believes he is one yet has not the slightest knowledge of how to treat a patient or what a doctor does, the claims and statements and leadership attributes u are refuting are again subject to debate so u can refute them or refuse to agree with them or give ur opinion of them but saying that the person is pretending because u dont like or dont agree with the statement or action is again inaccurate.

Just want to remind people that last season vs Barcelona, Lautaro had two disallowed goals. One was a legit offside on Lautaro, like 50-60cms behind the defense.

The other was a shot by Politano that hit a Barcelona player, Lukaku was in a typical fashion standing in offside position while Lautaro essentially tackled it in. Disallowed obviously as Lukaku was once more just watching the ball come towards him whilst in an offside position.

He actually doesn't need the humiliation. He's a very insecure person and his confidence needs to be at sky high in order to perform. When the humiliation started at Man Utd instead of working hard to improve he was only getting worse and worse.

Dude, Pretender is (or was) a legal term for someone who claimed a kingdom, usually without legitimacy. It has nothing to do with pretending to be something. The verb came from that word, not vice versa

Pretender means he is parading as some sort of leader when in fact he is not. He is just the spoiled teacher's pet. That's the whole gist of what I said.
