The point everyone is missing is Lukaku actually hit the target.
Where as Gags ,.. well I don't really need to say the rest.

Realistically it's going to take an attacking player a few games back after break to hit their stride, especially a big, generally clumsy one like Lukaku.

Thought his pen was particularly ice cold. I thought for sure he would miss.

He's actually been an amazing penalty kick taker for us. He has taken 6 and has sent the goalkeeper the wrong way each time.

It's ridiculous to say that it's easy to score here and in same time to justify Gagliardini's horrible miss, saying "those parallels balls are always difficult". Actually that pass to Luakaku was PARALLEL ball but as for yours double standard it's easy to score as Gagsi's one is difficult :einstein:

It wasn't parallel, love how you capitalize on your mistake as well.

It was a simple pass with one recipient clearly spotting the other and to a degree that was helpful for a left footed striker. Lulaku just failed.
Gagliardini has several excuses actually. He didn't expect it to bounce, he didn't expect he had to run for it as it was supposed to be already in, he is fucking Gagliardini, a bench player... Lukaku has no reason to be so immune to criticism. All of it is warranted and it's not even enough! We're all being soft on him because we see his name on the score sheet often.

The lockdown has clearly taken its toll on Brehme mind

Care to elaborate the fundamental role of a striker , if not scoring goals. Lol.

No but he converted a penalty in a tense moment when we were chasing the game, Which I have seen our former number 9's miss on occasions.

Okay, so now scoring from penalty is a feat we should celebrate and applause how good scorer the guy is. :D That's my interpretation from that comment. I don't know how past number 9's got to do with this.

We paid 80m for a guy to score PKs. In the end of the day a goal is a goal...:)

Funny how the price of a striker for us got that much higher but the standard becomes so much lower.

Swings and roundabouts, we have lost attributes and gained other attributes in comparison to previous strikers.

applaud or complain as you wish
But do remember he is currently our top goalscorer this season, and as long as he is doing what management request from him I don't see him leaving in the near future, so for the haters out there just deal with it .

Ps I'm not advocating , I'm just stating we are stuck with him for now ,

And we are stuck with gagliardini and vecino as well but people still complain/discuss, this is what this forum is for.

Unfortunately with the price that we paid we are stuck with him and nobody will ever pay close to what we did or even half of that.

Just gotta hope he improves especially with his finishing.

This forum has a disease. It's called the loser disease. Since we have been playing shit for years we no longer can see the talent in players and that's why we like Candreva and hate Lukaku

I remember a time when the loser disease was new in this forum and people started to praise Gagliardini too.

After watching Icardi being bullied by defenders for many years we finally got someone who can bore through any defense. To each their own, I am happy with Lukaku

When was the last time you see lukaku "bore through any defense"?

Anyone who says he bullies defenders by speed and strength plays too much fifa because he really is strong and fast in FIFA, much better than Icardi thats for sure.

The team lost its balance since mid February, so individually everyone look worse than they were in the first half of the season. It's difficult to recall since there was a pause due to covid, but I remember once he run with the ball or received it when surrounded by defenders trying to take him down he rarely got dispossesed.

P/s: I don't play games

For a guy as tall and heavy (I know it's not fat) as him, I'd say he doesn't really do a great job. He actually often gets bullied by the opponents defender, Colley against Sampdoria, Koulibaly against Naples, Chiriches against Sassuolo. He doesn't win a lot of balls in the air. The only time where you can see that he is a bulky player is when he receives the ball with his back to the goal.

But that's not my issue with Lukaku. My issue is when in your team you have people that run a lot, like Brozovic, Barella, Eriksen, Lautaro or Candreva, the amount of casual walking Lukaku does, hurts my eyes. He doesn't press, the only moment where he runs is when he wants to receive the ball. He never fights to win it back, in this case I prefer Lautaro and Sanchez' style of attackers because those are the one that make the team look dangerous when pressing.
