10 years of FIFHello Inter fans ,
This is the first time I write for Only Inter ,and I get to write about a fantastic match as a neutral football fan yet what an Inter fan would define as anoter tragedy , another disappointment .
As you know , the Olimpico hasn't been kind to us in the past , and it wasn't very kind to us in this match too .
The match wasn't a brilliant tactical match like you would expect from two great Italian teams ,but it was a match in which attack dominated and defense got humiliated .
The result , 3-3 , doesn't help either of the teams , as Roma was hoping to start winning with their new coach Luigi del Neri and Inter were hoping to take advantage of Roma's bad situation and grab three very important points on the way to the Scudetto .
Mancini decided to play Burdisso and Recoba, which leaves Materazzi and Davids on the bench , this decision was a very bad one in my opinion as we lacked all fighting spirit , Roma won everytime two opponents fought for the ball .
The Inter captain Javier Zanetti was fielded on the left back position as Favalli is still exhausted from the match against Anderlecht , and Ze Maria on the right flank , which was another mistake in my opinion as Mancini was having a field day on the wing , it started on the 9th minute as he dribbled past Javier Zanetti , crossed the ball to the middle , and with Cordoba failing to jump high enough to clear and Ze Maria marking poorly , Montella only had to perform a rather simple finish to give Roma the 1-0 advantage .
A minute later Inter almost equalised as Martins managed to steal the ball from Panucci and was clearly brought down by Ferrari but no penalty was awarded .
26 minutes later Martins was brought down by De Rossi in what seemed to be a tackle of 100% frustration , yet no free kick was awarded and Martins had to go off injured , Davids came in .
With Davids instead of Martins , Alvaro Recoba had to move forward from the midfield to attack , this decision was a good one , as Davids gave our team a lot of his fightning spirit , and Recoba was very dangerous in the attack , just a few minutes after this substitution Recoba crossed to Cambiasso , who was poorly marked by Mexes and headed the ball in , the equaliser ! 1-1 !
In the 2nd half , after a nice dribble from Davids who wins a corner for Inter , Recoba crosses the ball to Veron who from outside the area tries a volley shot , but his shot is deflected by Mexes into his own goal , 2-1 Inter !
Moments later Inter scored the 3rd , after a good through pass from Stankovic - Recoba easily went past Mexes and got an amazing strike on goal which Pelizzolli had no chance of holding , 3-1 Inter !
But the Giallorossi managed to get their hopes up as an amazing free kick from Totti went exactly into the top corner of the Inter goal , it's the Roma captain's 100th goal in the Serie A , 3-2 Inter .
Del Neri made a substitution that looked like kamikaze , he brought a midfielder for a striker , Dacourt for Montella .
But it paid off , as Roma equalised .
After a set piece with very bad marking by Burdisso and Cordoba , Dellas was left free , he chipped the ball to De Rossi who from less then 5 meters put the ball into the net .
Inter still had some great chances like a very good free kick from Adriano just over the bar , or a great through pass from Cristiano Zanetti Burdisso didn't manage to reach , but 3-3 it ended .
An indeed disappointing result , I hope we manage to improve our defense and quickly , or the only thing we will win this season is the draw championship .
