Inter Milan target Ricardo Carvalho believes his Chelsea career has come to an end and would love to play in Italy.
Ricardo Carvalho: Moving to Milan?
The 31-year-old defender, who was confirmed as a transfer target for the Serie A champions on Monday, also took a swipe at the Blues for neglecting him when he was injured last season.
Carvalho made only 18 appearances in an injury ravaged campaign and is eager to be reunited with former Chelsea and Porto boss Jose Mourinho at the San Siro.
"I believe my time at Chelsea has come to an end and I'm very happy a big club like Inter are interested in me," Carvalho told the Daily Star. "It's a new challenge and I'd like to play in Italy."
"I've been at Chelsea for five years, and four of them were very good, but this last season I spent a lot of time out injured. I wasn't happy and Chelsea can't have been happy with my contribution.
"Furthermore, when I was injured the club should have given me more support. They should have helped me more, especially given my past four years at Chelsea. Their attitude disappointed me a little."
Of former coach Mourinho, Carvalho added: "Mourinho's a coach who knows me better than anybody. Together we won big trophies. He's an ambitious coach and a perfectionist.
"Let's see if the clubs can reach an agreement. I'd love to work with Jose Mourinho again."
Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti confirmed on Monday that Mourinho had asked him to sign Carvalho and Portugal midfielder Deco in the transfer window. Chelsea will demand at least £12m before they consider selling the duo.
This summer has been going quite smoothly so far...
I'm feeling very pessimistic about Carvalho I have a feeling he'll stay put.
A few days ago, I posted saying how I had an odd dream where we somehow signed TWO Deco's.
1 Carvalho, 1 Deco, 2 Deco's or Deco and Carvalho..
My preferred outcome is 0 Deco's and 0 Carvalho's.
I also don't see how people undermine our DF's so much
As far as I'm concerned, Samuel is one of the best out there. Chivu is also a very solid defender so long as he stays in shape, Cordoba can be shaky but is generally a good defender. Materazzi is aerially dominant, and even Burdisso, when not gift-wrapping goals for Anorthosis, is better than people tend to make out.
I do not think we need Carvalho.
Unfortunately, it looks like we will sign him, which means Rivas will leave, and possibly Burdisso too.
Tutto mercato reports that according to mediaset the deal will be burdisso plus €5 million for carvalho ( not sure if the article means deco as well). That would be a very good deal imho.

Why's that a very good deal? Burdisso is worth 7-8m€, so paying 12-13m€ for Carvalho is a bit exaggeration. If Deco comes in that deal, then it can be called a good deal (if one wants to call getting Deco a good deal ).
Getting rid of a player we don't want and paying minimal cash for a player we want I consider a good deal. We can argue what carvalho's true value is and the same goes for burdisso.
