How does it work? Why was it added?

User Reputation in its simplest form is a ranking of your user's benefit to your forum. Its basis comes from the opinions of all of your forum users that choose take part in it.

Users gain and lose reputation based on how their posts are scored by other forum participants. Users with the ability to affect reputation, will either give or take aways points by approving or disapproving with a post's content.

User reputation can be a divisive element of your forum so great care should be taken before a decision is made to enable it.

But agreeing with the majority isn't always the same as being a contributive poster, and you can add something important even if you often have a different view on things. So I don't know if this is a good idea

There's instructions how to use, or for what is this Reputation System. Majority of forums are using Reputation system and it's very appreciated. If there's any need for tutorial how to click in the member's reputation, I'll post images how to.

Yeah, you are right.

But I don't know what is going on with this our reputation system, I hope that anyone of Admins will fix this, we should have a box in UserCP to see how much points we have in our reputation.

Under my User CP, it says I have a total of 33 reputation points, but when I post on a thread, under my avatar, it shows only 1 reputation point (my assumption is that every 10 points shows up as 1 reputation point). Mine is displayed right there on the front page as soon as I click User CP.

Just wanna let everyone know that vBulletin (The forum software) has a different way of counting these reputation points. I don't know the formula either but what shows up in your user profile is these counted numbers, not the number of times you are given positive rep.

? Just like someone else said, I had 1 reputation point a day ago, now I have 2.

To test this, I find one of my posts, and click the button under "favourite player" which says "Add to Universe's reputation" and obviously being unable to add to my own reputation, it says "this post has not received any reputation." Which leads me to think people click that button on a post you wrote to give you reputation, as someone just mentioned, perhaps 10 reputation points or 10 'clicks' = 1 point.

But it also says,
"You currently have 0 reputation points." despite the fact I apparently have 2.

Someone help me out?
