I was mentioned by Frisko, but what do these 'referrals' mean?

I for an example have 1:

As far as I know, the referral system works when registering members actually name a particular forum member through which he discovered FI. There are no automatic benefits for the referral program - any such rewards would solely be given out at the discretion of the Administration team, aka. none.
