I know each thread can be ranked in stars (1 to 5).

Can we do that to posts as well? It doesn't have to be necessarily 5 stars, but it can be three. 2 is default and then if someone agrees or likes your post they can add 3 stars or can add 1 if someone doesn't like it.

Ive seen some sites implement it very well, to the point where any posts that start to get many 3 star votes get a highlighted or bolded background to stand it out from the rest, where as the crappier comments get lighter text and stuff.

I dunno, id love to see something like this here. Doesnt have to be user rating, just posts.

Yeah, I guess this function is where you could derive the best posts or the best poster overall, and the worst of course.

I think that it's a good idea and will surely boost post quality on the board. But, i'm pretty sure that it there is no such function on vBulletin, only on invision board.

It can also screw up the discussions. I have seen the thank/groan feature which makes the posters obsessive about getting thanks against their names.
