Dosent have the legs anymore. This time next season he'll just be another body in our stagnant midfield. Teams like Ajax and Liverpool will run through our midfield because he's unable to and unwilling to keep up. Sell.

I appreciate the goal against Empoli and his efforts in the run in to the end of the season but I feel it was too little too late. If we had seen the Naingollan at the beginning of the season that we saw at the end, we may have not had to wait until the final game of the season to book our place in next season's Champions League.

In the game against Empoli, there were occasions when the ball and his teammates were moving around him but he appeared slow and in some cases, stuck in one place. I honestly feel that the money we are spending on his wages is wasted for the professionalism (or lack thereof) that he has displayed this season.

I am hoping that might change next season but the overwhelming feeling I have is that Naingollan is in decline and the arrival of a new coach will not change that.

That goal he scored was actually very hard to hit right. Right off the post to get such a clean shot is something extremely underrated. Well done.

He fought, he pressed hard, he has pretty good technical ability, I think this second half he met expectations scoring some important goals hopefully he stays fit next year.

Tbh I give him 1 year with Conte at the helm before they have a falling out.

This! You are so right, there was such a tiny window it would have been easier to hit the post.

Came here to post exactly this. So glad that opportunity fell to him, and not to Vecino or worse, Politano.

For next season, he needs to be used as b2b midfielder where he can run ragged for 60 mins, or as an impact sub in some cases.

It was an open goal. I was more impressed with first time shots in the first half. Amazing shooting technique.

If we're going to pay him this much just to be an impact sub then we better sell. We need to stop entertaining luxury players, we're still constrained financially.

Overall this was a good transfer. Although he had a rough start with all the injuries in the first half of the season and behavioral issues in the winter he really turned things around in the second half.
Without him I doubt we would have made it too CL.

His quality was never in doubt, we all knew he would be a difference maker. But being inter the media dont allow a big signing to rest, even getting injured makes them a flop.

After so many chances, it would be weird if we didn't score twice.

Let the time of only having two chances per game be long gone.

I m a bit worried how he ll act when spallo is gone, even though it s not like spallo had him under control and i think spallo is one of the coaches who he respects more.

But like many said his quality was never in doubt it s just his professionalism that was.
I just hope that him and conte will get along and that he does not hold a grudge if spallo (the guy who brought him here) gets the boot after just one season.

I think he’s got one top level season left in him. Hopefully Conte likes him and can squeeze that out of him, then we can move on next summer if Barella or whoever we choose hasn't already usurped him.

For me at least, he did enough in the second half of this season to redeem himself. He was one of the few players holding everything together during the absolute shit show going on with Icardi. He still had his share of stinker performances sure, but that's football, everyone does. Assuming he returns with the level of professionalism he did after his suspension, he's nothing but a valuable asset to this side next season. Fuck knows we need it with the lunatic we're going to have in charge of the side.

I don't see Nainggolan being a staple starter for Conte. I don't see him having enough legs for Conte's football. Unless Radja is placed in some kind of lower position in midfield for playmaking duties (which is going to take away a lot of his playstyle).

Well in all likelihood, he's probably not going to have a whole lot more choice than to play Nainggolan. We're not going to be going crazy spending on players this Summer and the priority has to be on getting more rounded midfielders to improve on Vecino and Gagliardini, so he's still likely going to be the best attacking option from midfield.

Very good point. He made it look easy, but the ball was moving fast and skipping on the turf, and a defender was racing back towards the line... he had to hit it hard and accurately.

It doesn't redeem a disappointing season, but he deserves credit for that goal.
