So whats the difference between match sharpness and the sharpness at training ???
I can understand coming off an injury because your training is hindered.
Intensity wont be the same? Training on small grounds will never be same as playing intense competitive match. Players not playing for long time will be rusty and tbh few English journalists did say this after the second game. It turns out to be they were correct but few also pointed out keeping Rooney match fit for quarters is equally important, so he should start.
If you think player wont lack match fitness/sharpness after not playing for over a month, then fine. Lets agree to disagree.
And why does playing coming from long term injury lack match shareness and fitness? Surely he will have enough training sessions before playing competitive match? So why is it the players takes few games to get back to his full fitness?
