Ah nothing man, it is just when Helal said that I rememberd the Japan-Iran Qaulification match for the World Cup 98,which was played in Malayesia which Japan won 3-2. This Iranian scored a beautiful goal via his head against his own goal, but the ref said the a Japanese player was off side.
BTW people, I am from Iranian decent, so don't think I was laughing at Iran.

A little off topic, but i was lazy to create a new thread.
Singapore has just sent their third player in the space of 6 months to train with a Eurpoean club. The previous two were striker Indra Sahdan and midfielder Sutee Suksomkit. Both trained with the Chelsea reserves and were told by the Chelsea management they were definitely Championship League material but couldn't make the cut into the Premier League. This is great news for Singaporean football as it was well, looking rather bleak for us to pursue careers in football.

I actually wanted to be a footballer full time but i realised football alone couldnt pay my bills! The third player is Noh Alam Shah, Singapore's hottest star (besides me) yet. He has been sent to Notts County for a trial. If he succeeds, he will be only the third player in our history to have played for a European club. The previous were Fandi Ahmad and V Sundramoorthy.. Bet you never heard of em? ;)

This certainly is refreshing and gives us hope in pursuing the love of the best game on the planet...
Phew! Glad to have that off my chest...
I feel so proud :proud: :proud: :proud:

Best of luck to Noh Alam Shah. He did Singapore proud in the Tiger Cup and deserves his chance to try his luck in a European club.

Ciao,
Tim

As it turns out, he didn't get to play ONE first team match. He did however, train with first team players but was made to play in the reserves. There goes my dreams of being a footballer

Spurs Step Up Nekounam Interest
7/12/2005 5:18:00 AM
Tottenham Hotspur have stepped up their interest in Iranian midfield star Javed Nekounam.
As reported in Goal.com last month, the Premier League outfit are interested in securing the services of the defensive midfielder who has won 66 caps for his country and Coach Martin Jol would like to meet the 24 year-old as soon Spurs return from South Korea where the club are participating in the eight-team Peace Cup.

However, it is uncertain if the Teheran-born player would leave his hometown club Pas, the team he helped to its first Iranian title in 2004 and the AFC Champions League quarter-finals, which begin in September.

yes..good player..has huge work rate in midfield, wins a lot of duels and one of few players who manage to pass the ball quickly without thinking too long. IMHO he was Iran's best player in the qualification.
however, he seems to go to kaiserslautern instead....given that Tottenham has more midfields than it's good for them, I think he does the right thing.

Japan Iran 2-1

We played mainly with our reserve players as none of our overseas players took part in this game. ;)

Aaaa....oTL....I'm frustrated.

You know, Korea advanced semi-final in last World Cup.

After World Cup, Coelho was appointed coach of Korea.

During Coelho's system, Korea showed good performance.

But we was draw and lost matches facing Vietnam, Oman, Maldives.

After all, He was discharged and Bonfrere was appointed.

But Bonfrere has sucked and Korea is too.

I don't expect that we advance again semi-final. What I want is just showing good performance,if we lose, or pass group stage in Next World Cup..

Plz Cut Bonfrere and Come Back Coelho.

Well it seems Bahrain will play against Uzbekistan for that last potential Asian spot. The Uzbeki's are really tricky...

The winner there will play against the fourth of the CoCaCaf...Not an easy game there too especially if it is Costa Rica.
