Wasn't the US one of the first countries to do something, they started closing the borders from countries with COVID (like Chine, later Europe) like in February, they created the COVID taskforce also in late February, so what exactly are you talking about?

Plus the US is a huge country, with well over 300M people so just saying a number is meaningless, per capita and compared to something would make sense. Hell Florida alone have well over 20M people, that's more than plenty of countries in Europe, 1500 cases per week, again compared to what?
